I made my mom's hamburger stew for dinner today.. it was yummy

the only change I made to it was i added potato instead of pasta because I wanted to freeze some and pasta doesn't freeze all that well

Making garlic bread and spaghetti tonight.

Last night's falafel was a fail. I kind of knew that was going to happen... I only had canned chickpeas on hand. I'll try again next weekend.

GASP. FALAFEL??? Share your recipe, yo!

so I have discovered the secret to not having dried out chicken breast... brining! I put a couple of boneless chicken breasts in 4 cups of water mixed with 1/4 cup brown sugar and 1/8 cup kosher salt (if using regular salt use half the amount of salt). I left them in that mixture for just over an hour. Then I took them out and rinsed them a bit and then patted them dry. I put a spice rub on them at this point. Then I seared the chicken breast for a few minute on each side over the open flame on the BBQ and then I put them over on the side with no flame and cooked them for a little longer.

they were the best chicken breasts I have ever had.. so nice and moist.. mmmmm

Falafel round two tonight.

Let's hope the cooking gods are on my side tonight. I have bought dry garbanzo beans and promise to never attempt to use canned again in an effort to save time. :P

Sounds good Marilyn!

We haven't had anything for dinner lately that's even worth typing about. Night before last we had...hotdogs. Then the deluxe version last night (chili dogs  )

We have like almost no food here, in anticipation of the move on Wednesday. I mean it's not like we are moving cross country - but we also have no idea when the fridge will show up on Wednesday.

But tonight we will have teriyaki stirfry - yay real food!
