Hello everyone,

I have been a silent reader of this forum for quite some time and wanted to share with you my latest conversation with USCIS this morning.

I filed to remove conditions on residency in July 2008 in VCS, was transferred to CSC on 02/25/2009 and finally got an approval notice, which came (surprise!) from the local office in Baltimore on 05/06/2009. My online status has not been updated and still says that the case has been transferred to CSC on 02/25/2009.

This morning I decided to call the USCIS to inquire as to why the status has not been changed online and when I should be expecting the actual green card.

The USCIS representative took my receipt number and stated that according to their records the case is pending in CSC. I told her about the approval letter I received dated 5/06/09 after which she said: " The USCIS has 60 days since the approval of the petition to get the card to production and update all the information online. However, due to card production delay we are currently experiencing, you have to give it 8 more weeks after the 60 days are up. So if you do not receive anything by September 6, 2009 give us a call back."

I am simply outraged!!!

Oh oh, so 8 weeks is on top of the 60 days of wait time? I have the same decision date of 5/6 but I was hoping I would get the GC by mid-July.

Back to the waiting line I guess.

For you Kcubas10, I suggest filing for N-400 as soon as your 90-day window opens - if it hasn't already. Just enclose the approval notice with your papers.

That doesn't sound right at all! 8 weeks on top of the 60 days? Total 116 days to get the GC even after you're approved?!

It seems like we have the same dates. My petition was received at the VSC on July 21, 2008, got transferred to the CSC on Feb. 25, 2009 and was approved on May 6, 2009. Like you, my approval letter came from my local office in Charlotte, NC. When I called the unhelpful line about my 10 year card, like you, the CSR knew nothing about my approval and my online status now reads that my petition was received at the CSC on May 15, 2009. Bizarre and yes, outrageous. I guess we just wait for the dang thing and apply for naturalization when we are eligible although the thought of getting into yet another process with the USCIS is not very appealing.
