Personal Hygiene Code

Check out the last sentence in the article from the mayor. Is it really freedom of choice to wear underwear to work?

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

LOL With the economy the way it is right now if someone's dumb enough to go to work smelling like all types of skank and showing off their underwear or lack thereof, just fire them on the spot and bring in someone else haha.

Haha I'm actually not all that surprised really though. At the place I work at we have a strict dress code and every Wednesday (except for the summer thank God) you have to wear a tie and all that. Even with this in place we still have people walking around in flip flops, tennis shoes, and capri pants, it'a amazing really haha.

no.. it's one thing for a company to enforce a dress code (they should have every right to do so for safety issues etc.) but for a CITY/TOWN to do it? Bonkers.. Perhaps I'm becoming to right wing American  here, but huH?

I'm just wondering about the logistics of enforcing the underwear requirement. Do city workers have to be prepared to drop their trousers for inspection on demand? That might cause more problems than it solves. Just saying.

What??? I will :protest: the right of slutty dresses everywhere!!!! Wait. I am a prude. :crying:

E- This might come in handy for me though if they required state workers to wear deodorant. I have a REALLY smelly boss.

Actually here in Michigan we're an at-will employer, even the state, so they can pass these kinds of codes all the time and Michigan actually has done so too. You could go into work today and just cause they feel like it they can let ya go, really nothing new other than actually requiring their employees not to reak to all Heaven hahaha.

Haha I wish a code could be passed to keep people from smoking if they cough more than 25 times a day. I have a guy next to me that practically brings up 4-5 pounds of lung butter every day, coughs about every 3 minutes then goes outside and fires up a heater Lol.

EWwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

I've been to Brooksville. It's a pretty scary place. Very backwoods, if you know what I mean.

pls explain!

Hmm. Well, I'll try! It's the kind of place where you wouldn't be surprised to see men in boots and overalls (no shirt) standing on the side of the road with a shotgun in their arms. Their biggest shop is the "Gun and Pawn". It wouldn't surprise me in the least if most of the locals had never been beyond the county line..... and it shows. In their dress and their mannerisms and.... well..... they just seem awkward, if that's the right word. My daughter and I stopped at the local restaurant (bad move) for a "Greek" salad with chicken. Well, I can guarantee you that whatever it was that they served..... it certainly had no resemblance to chicken, nor to any type of meat whatsoever. It may have been waved through a vat of synthetic chicken broth at some point, but that's probably the closest it ever got to a chicken.

I dunno. Hard to explain. Think Deliverance.

Yes and what if you wear a thong, which makes you have no panty lines but looks like you're not wearing undies but you really are? Are you to drop trou right then and there?

I remember hearing about a town that wanted to pass a law about keeping your pants up at your waist! The reason being is so many younger people (boys generally)wearing the jeans at their thighs with a belt on and then their boxers being in view because their shirts were not long enough! People were also complaining about the girls who wear their pants so low and have their thongs sticking out and don't have shirts long enough to cover!

I wonder if it ever passed! I remember seeing it on the news or Dateline or something!
