NEXUS card and immigration

Hi everyone. I just found this forum so I'll introduce myself a bit. I am Canadian, I met my American fiancee 5 years ago while I was in medical school in the US. Since then I have returned to Canada and she has stayed in the US. I have a NEXUS card which I use to fly down to the US and drive across the border. When we get married (we plan to do it in the US), do I need to let the NEXUS people know that I have gotten married and that I have absolutely no intention of living in the US? We plan on living in Canada after. THanks for all the help.

I'd say no. After you get married, I don't see why Nexus would need to be notified. The only thing I would be concerned about as a Nexus holder, or any traveller visiting fiance/spouse, would be showing ties to Canada when you cross(if your future wife is still living in the US).

thanks guys. The US Customs guy when he interviewed me for my NEXUS told me to be very careful when we get married so as I don't lost my NEXUS pass. I assume he meant if I were to stay in the US after marriage. I may decide to come back down years down the road but I would need an actual job offer and as a physician, it's not exactly easy to just up and leave to work in the US.

I really don't think it matters, to be honest. You aren't moving anywhere, you are just getting married. I dont think they really are concerned with that in the NEXUS process.

I was told at the interview that if any information changed I was to let them know immediately. Since I have not changed to my married name I haven't notified them . I beleive that Linda told them at the border that she was now married and that was fine with them.

Yes, any info that changes (address, name...) you have to notify Nexus. I did when I moved. But in his case, I don't think he needs to tell them anything. Nothing they have on file is changing.
