My fiance love to eat dried fish, pork adobo, afritada, humba na medyo parang preto type para di masyadong oily and his favorite of course lumpia......He doesnt like to eat ballot..But ballot is my favorite though..hheehehe..He doesnt like to eat eggplant and embutido coz i remember he told me it look like nasty, but he never knew that when his here in our house my mama served him embutido, and when he asked me if we served him embutido i said yes..he said what?i didnt noticed that i said coz mama sliced it..heheehhehe..And that's true my fiance also didn't used spoon,he used fork.I want to learn in using fork also but it seems so hard for me,parang di ako nabubusog....And he doesn't like to eat spicy food...I really feel pitty on him when i served him a hot sauce..I was the one who made the sauce..I didn't know that it was super hot for him..His lips burn and he couldn't eat...But i ask sorry to him..So its okay after......

That's all....

My fiance eats dried fish atleast twice a day, 7 days a week but I can't stand the taste. Even if I cook a sirloin steak, she would rather have dried fish and rice hehe...

Balut...grabe lami (masarap)....I like it with alot of vinegear. First time I ever ate it was at a 7/11 in Tagaytay several years ago...I have been eating it ever since

Something as a Kano I have noticed is Pilipino's when using silverware, hold the fork and spoon at the same time in different hands and are very good using silverware with both hands. If you notice most Kano's only eat with one hand, and will put the fork down to use the spoon and vice versa. In America we eat alot more bread and use that as our shovel to push things onto the fork. :star:

Haha! Dried fish really has strong smell but it is nice to eat it with sinangag (fried rice) and scrambled egg in the morning. I didn`t serve my fiance those fried fish when he stayed here in Phil because I know he wouldnt like it.

Two thumbs up for you for enjoying balut that much! haha.

Fork and spoon (kutsara and tinidor) in dining has something to do with Spanish influence and because we usually eat rice in every meal and it`s easier to eat rice (especially non-sticky or fried rice) with spoon. Anyway, not only Filipinos use fork and spoon, even South east / East asian countries (like Malaysia or Thailand) use kutsara and tinidor too when eat their meals. Anyway, I want to practice using fork and knife when I get there because most of the American foods are not in bite size (steaks, chicken breasts, etc.) and need lots of cutting. haha!

He doesnt like to eat eggplant

That's all....

Yup! Same with mine, he doesnt like eggplant (talong) because of its bland taste. I told him maybe he`ll like it if I fry it with egg and he laughed on the idea of egg and eggplant (tortang talong) mixed together (too eggy?).

True. Another part (aside from internal organs, head) of a pig that they think its nasty. But paksiw na pata and crispy pata are just yumm for us Filipinos! (but so high in cholesterol)

Why Do I Love To Cook?

I love to make people happy and amazingly enough nothing can put a big satisfied smile on someones face after a good hearty meal. That's why I love to cook.

You are right that VJ is mostly about visa related items specifically but thankfully they provided more forums than just 100% visa discussion. For example, the forum this discussion is in has the description of:

This Forum is dedicated to discussion on the major regions around the world. Topics of discussion may include travel, moving, what to eat and any other experience you may wish to share or inquire about. Have fun!

If this discussion isn't about what to or not to eat, I don't know what is. To me, it looks like we are on topic with this section pretty well.

To add a bit more to my earlier post, he does not like smelly dried fish or things with bell peppers or raw chilies with vinegar.

I want to list here the food that I like but he doesnt want to taste (or taste ever again)...

1. Isaw (chicken intestine)

2. Dinuguan (or what he called chocolate meat)

3. Fish belly

4. Tuwalya (ox tripe).

5. Balot......

Most of this ###### is not fit for human consumption with zero nutritional value. For starters, animal stomach, intestine and blood harbor E Coli.

I eat to fuel my body and choose wisley what I put into it for that purpose. All of what you list, typically end up as pet food ingredients here in the US. That is the disparity between 1st world and 3rd world.

"Our Wedding Prayer"

Lord, help us to remember when we first met,and the strong love that grew between us.

To work the love into practical things so nothing can divide us

Grant us a Love that grows stronger with each passing year.

We ask for words both kind and loving

and for hearts always ready to ask forgiveness as well as to forgive.

Guide us to overcome every challenge

and keep our dreams pure to each other always.

Dear Lord,we put our marriage into Your hands.Amen

If your heart acquires strength, you will be able to remove blemishes from others without thinking evil of them.
