Is she under AP ? if so you can not tell how long it will take .maybe a few weeks to months .

good luck

Nothing's impossible . Nothing's unreachable .When I am weary you make me stronger

This love is beautiful .So unforgettable . I feel no winter cold when we are together .

Will you stand by me ?!!!Hold on and never let me go .

Will you stand by me?!! With you i know i belong . When the story gets told .

When day turns into night .I look into your eyes . I see my future now .All the world and its wonder

This love wont fade away. And through the hardest days . I will never question us .You are the reason my only reason.

I'm blessed to find what i need in a world loosing hope. you are my only believe .

You make things right every time after time.....

Will you stand by me ?!!!

I love you so much and i miss you so much more .

Doesn't sound like a 221(g) case, sounds like AP (additional processing) Which seems to take anywhere from 2-8 weeks judgeing from what I read.

Moved to correct forum - K-1 to 221g

Edited by Bobby_Umit

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

WARNING: Phrases in this post may sound meaner than they were intended to be. Read the Adjudicator's Field Manual from USCIS

In many consulates you DO get a 221(g) for AP. Many mark that as the disposition with notes stating nothing more is needed at this time and that they will get back to you. Additionally, you can get a 221(g) requesting more information. And, you can get a denial with the case being sent back to the US also showing 221(g).

Read what the paperwork states - we've even had members scan [and black out the appropriate personal information] to get advice on what their 221(g) meant.

If the officer stated that everything was ok and they just need time, then you can assume the visa applicant is in AP/AR - they may be doing name checks, verifying documentation, etc.

What does the paperwork say?

I am sorry this happened to you. But remember this is common nowadays. AP is the same as 221g, they issue a 221g to conduct the additional processing. As they said they don't need additional documents, it is just name checks and backround/traveling history. This can take from 1 week to over 1 year. With women and people outside of the Middle East, India, Pakistan, APs are much shorter. I would not worry too much, but would call DOS (Department of State) at 1-202-663-1225, dial 0 then 1 (or the other way around, you will hear choices) and give them the case number to know updates about the case. Be patient about this and soon the visa will be issued, remember these cases rarely get denied because they issued the AP/221g to do additional processing to issue the visa.

God bless,

Tam

AP: Over 1 year.

Visa: Nov 2

US Entry: Nov 13, Alhamdulillah.

Been there, done that...........

Usually takes about a few weeks to a few months or even years.

Ours took 10 weeks. But varies by country and necessary checks and docs.

Hang in there.

PM me for any AP or AR relating to the NBI
