hello everyone....i am a mom-to-be....5 months pregnant with our first child...and until now we havent decide what code to use (US or PH family code) to name our baby...im insisting to use the PH code meaning the middle name will be the same as mine like in the philippines but he wants to add his dad's name to our baby's name...i asked him if we can have 2 names then a middle name then the last name (like: john joseph montez benitez)...he said only one name is allowed here (like: john montez benitez)...

so we still dont know what to use...

my question is...to the mom already who gave birth here (or in PH) which code did you use and also for the mom-to-be...what code are you going to use?

thanks....

My hubby prefers the PH code, and for me, it is ok whether US or PH code. I asked my hubby why he likes to use the PH code, he said "to honor the PH culture" :)

Hi,

I gave bith in the PH..my hubby wants to use Isaac as my son's middle name (since here you can make ur own middle name)..and in the Philippines they won't allow it ,,the mother's surname shud be the child's middle name so since hubby wants the Isaac we ended up using 2 first names with my single surname as middle name and my married name. So our child's name is Gabriel Isaac L.. then my married name as d family name of d child.

same here...i want name(his dads name) name(mix of our name) my middle and then the last name.....he said US dont allow it....normally ...one name one middle and last.....

the thing is you gave birth in PH which the family code allow 2 names....i wonder if they allow it also here....i hope so....

My daughter has one first name, two middle names and then last name. She was born in US and no problem with birth registration and SSN.

I'll definitely use my surname as my future kids middle name. I'll :protest: if it doesn't happen. LOL
