Hello,

It says on the USCIS website that Milwaukee is processing cases dated October 2008 as of March 31, 2009.

Is that in line with your experience in getting processed?

Thank you in advance for sharing your side of the story.

I am now a US citizen.

Any Milwaukee filers?

We only went to Milwaukee for biometrics or more like three sets of the same fingerprints with photos taken twice, but went to Bloomington for the oath and interview. Our NOA said 288 days, but the whole thing was over in a tad over five months. See St. Paul is posting six months now, about the same time, so much quicker than even a couple of years ago. In two of our visits to Milwaukee, we were the only ones there, other time they had ten. Hard to believe about all these applicants you read about, but maybe processing ten applicants is a lot of people for the government.

Wife was working for patient assistance at our hospital and was expected to do 16 per day, she had a zillion different hospital and government forms to deal with, had to decide which one to use plus had to fill them out for the applicant asking them all the questions and explaining to them how to answer.

Wouldn't it be nice if the USCIS was like that? Just walk in, tell them you want to marry a foreigner and they chose all the forms and properly fill them out for you. But the way it is, if you forget to dot an i, you are in deep trouble. Oh, and her hospital didn't charge for that service and they sure weren't supported with our tax dollar.

NickD,

The bureaucracy does not have a face, it is usually anonymous, so it is more difficult to assign accountability and no one wants to be responsible for anything, everyone delegates to get rid of the accountability and not much is achieved as a result. :)

But as you said the general processing times are shorter than before, that is good news for us, 'the customers'.

I am now a US citizen.
