The World Beat Music Fest is in Houston tomorrow from noon to 10pm. They're featuring Jamaica this year & have several reggae artists. The more famous people are coming at night: Yellowman, Beenie Man, & Chaka Khan

R u going?

Nah. One of my friends from college is coming to town this evening. A couple of us were thinking about the festival tomorrow, but Houston is going through a super-hot phase right now (called "Summer") so it's 90-100 degrees daily. My friend coming to town from Oklahoma isn't interested in outdoor events.

i think imma get mi husband a Zune for fathers day. anybody have one?

No, but I have an iPod. Buy.com has iPods for low prices (refurbs I think); that was one of their deals of the day today. Also, if you go to the apple store website, look near the bottom left for refurbished iPods. I got mine refurbished & saved a ton of money.

i have an ipod too but i've been hearing Zunes are better

Anyone hear from Justucia today?

i saw her on here earlier but she didn't post

hey ladies

i was using my phone earlier, dont know how to post with it

(my computer was not working for last week, i spilled water all over my laptop)

ANYWAYS-

damions bus broke down on the way to kingston (of course)

i asked him to go a day early to avoid something like this, but his hardheaded self would not listen

i guess taking care of business for his cousin was more important than making sure he got to kingston in plenty of time (yes, im a bit bitter lol)

so of course the interview has to be re-scheduled for who knows when

im not suprised, this is my life

i would have been shocked if it went smooth

:crying:

JAWI!

:star::dance::star:

im so happy for you

:star::star::star::star::star::star::star:

Awwwww, girl. I'm so sorry.

Hang in there.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip

Oh no! That SUCKS. :((F)

I have stories of times Jamaican men have put minor business ahead of MAJOR business, but none of them compare to this! Where the major business is their interview. I know you must've been SUPER mad at him for that. Hope the rescheduled interview goes smoothly.

I dont know what a Zune is?

I have an hour left ... it is dragging. I am finding other things to do... like bugging Louis! hahaha

its an mp3 player....microsofts version of the ipod

Oh, you know my daughter got a little pink mp3 player (she calls it her ipod) and it holds videos, pictures, songs... books all kinds of stuff. I was only $40! She bought it with her birthday money and loves the thing! It came in other colors too.... I should see what the name of it is.

I have over 2 hours to go... but that's the price I pay to sleep in until 8am.

Oh! Speaking of mp3 players, the Sansa Clip is WAAAAY cheaper than the iPods & Zunes. I bought one several months ago for like $25 that held 2gb of music and also played radio stations. It is smaller than a flip phone and clips on to your pocket or anything.

I just checked... my daughter has a ZEN by creative.. same maker as my webcam. If that ZEN can make it through 4 months in a 7 year olds backpac, bus rides, and a million sticky fingers... it must be pretty good!

I seriously thought she would lose this instantaniously! But she ihas done pretty well. I guess since she spent her own money on it... it is worth more to her!

LOL Yuh see it? I'm telling you there is never a dull moment in our household. Last night to my surprise he was sleeping with the flashlight. Any time I tossed and turned or made any type of noise he shined the light in my face. wha deh raas? I asked " honey please tell me why you have the flashlight"? He responded he needs to be ready for anything! This is me . Ok I can deal with the flashlight, I just can't deal with being wrapped up in hot blankets in 80 degree weather LOL

that is just precious and must make you feel so loved...although a bit scary to have a light shining in your face.

Happy Friday ppl

Ok so I'm caught up..and have a question for anyone that has been heavy (over 100 lbs and lost it)

:ot: So as you guys know I've been working out with this girl from work for past year and half. I'm more toned and lost 20lbs but it's been stalled since Nov last year. I've missed a few workouts if I take time off work and my two weeks of vacation last month. Anywho..I told my friend (the wanna be trainer) that I read that I may not be losing because when jogging I'm conditioning the heart and getting healthy but I'm not in a fatburn zone. From what I read I need to do something that keeps the heart rate steady (like a brisk walk) and not something where I'm gasping for air like I do with the 30 min run. She went off! Told me that I'm going backwards and I just don't want to work. Told me that if I would be consistent (ahhh hello a year and half is what I call consistentcy) the weight would come off. She refuse to speak to me now and told me to work out on my own (cool)

But my question is…….. who's right..

First of all what the hell is her problem she acting like she yo damn man or sumptin tell her azz to kick rocks! she irks my nerves and i dont even know her...

I lost a total of 65 pounds in like 5 or 6 months what i did was weight watchers and i went to the gym three times a week 2 times a week i did spinning classes which is awesome you will drop when incorporating spinning in your work out routine, the only thing is spin class is a hard work but it pays off and you get use to it after the first couple of times. when not doing the spin classes i usually did the elliptical or the prector for a half and hour along with light weights after a while i noticed i stopped losing weight because of course when you first start something it is a shock to the body then after a while you get use to it so i had to step up my work out a lil more and now im noticing im losing again now i work out four times a week in the mornings and watch my eating lunch is lean cusines and dinner is always proportion controlled so far i lost and additional 12 pounds in the past 3 weeks. its really hard to stay in a fatburn zone i always end up doing cardio oh i also do the programs on the machines right now i do the fatburn course on the prector its a half hour with 3 hills...

wakey I am not sure who is right but I know I was working out like you were and I wouldn't shed a pound but once I started following weight watchers the weight fell off. I didn't join but had a friend that did and we kind of just helped each other out. I also started going from 1/2 an hour to an hour of cardio so I am not sure which one did the trick. Not sure what your diet is or how long you are working out.

That's what I told her that I wanted to kick up the time of my cardio from 30 min to 60 for 6 days a week. I told her I just want to see if this will work I mean what I'm doing now has been wanting to throw up my hands and sit on the couch until I'm no more.

My eating is good during the week eating vegatbables and meat I cut back on the rice......but on the weekend I eat too many carbs. I love bread, cookies, cake, cereal.

boy oh boy this is my problem carbs i cant cut them i try and try i will make a samich out of damn near anything smh... i just get weight watchers bread or 40 cal bread by arnolds and wheat pasta and such...

OOOOOOOOOOOKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK...

By the way so far down 4lbs since I started doing things differently on Monday..Not to shabby!
