"Touched"?

I'm a little confused as to the meaning of "touched". I received the NOA1 March 3, 2009, and i regularly check our case status online at the USCIS website. Our case, since the USCIS received it in March, has said "case received and pending". I don't see where we would be able to see if anyone touched our case. On a lot of the timelines here on VJ, i see that some people's cases are "touched" just days after they receive the NOA1. Where do they see that this has happened? Is it weird that we got the NOA1 March 3, and it hasn't changed at all, but still says "case received and pending"?

Thanks.

When you log into the USCIS website (CRIS or Case Status Online) and view your files it will say update : "some date". If that date changes that means your case was touched. If something important was done then when you click on your reciept number the description of the last action on your account will have changed, if it was merely a touch it will not have changed.

Some petitions are approved with no touches or date changes.

When you check your case online, then you will notice that the date change since the last time it was updated, then your case was "touched". The changes on dates indicates that they processing your case.

unfortunately, at this time contributions are not tax deductible, but you'll feel better knowing you're helping some gal graduate college.
