Hello all,

I need some help. I am wanting to know how long anybody has waited for an interview date set at the embassy after your case has been completed at the NVC. The reason for this is because I should get through this process quicker than I have anticipated. And I am preparing to be present during the interview, but I will not be able to go untill Janurary. It will be very difficult to make the trip any earlier, I am going to barely make the $1000 for the ticket, let alone the higher price because of the holiday season. Plus I will not be able to take vacation untill January. I am thinking about holding some of the NVC papers for a week or two for each to insure that my wife will get an interview in Jan or feb. Any input is appreciated, thanks

If your case takes as long as mine did, you dont have to worry about being at an interview in January. Your papers went to USCIS in April, and there is a very wide range of time for approval with them. Some seem to fly through in three to four months, and that would put your NOAH 2 sometime in July or August. Then the NVC seems to take with most people about one week, so perhaps by the end of August or beginning of Sept. you will have your papers get to the Embassy in Manila. They you call Manila and schedule her interview, and it is purely up to you when you schedule it.

My USCIS took ten months and then the NVC played with me for almost two months, so it was about one year from when I filed that we finally were able to get an interview scheduled. If you unfortunately end up like me, you wont have to worry about flying here until next Spring.

In any case, it is you who picks the interview date once the NVC gets done with your papers.
