Interview appointment was at 2:40 Reached there 1:40 after going through security ( There are 3 queues Make sure you go to the one marked for Interview as it is a short line)

I was in the waiting room at 1:50 at that time there were around 60 - 70 people in the room by 2:40 there were only around 40 left waiting.

Checked time again it was 3:40 and only 3 people left in the room :confused:

But around 3:45 heard my name and was escorted to the interview room by a nice young immigration officer who was from a Asian decent and very polite first he apologized for the delay than guided me to his office.

Once in the office he asked me to raise had and took the oath to speak truth.

Then he asked for GC & passport then went through my application question by question. Verified my address than asked me to sign the pictures & Application.

Than he said it is time for test.

Reading/Writing:

He gave me a peace of paper which has 3 line written on it as asked me to read line #2 ( What country is north of USA)

Than I was asked to write ( Canada is in the north of USA)

Then he printed a question sheet and asked me questions:

1- Who is the Chief justice of Supreme Court.

2- When do we vote for President

3- name 2 rights every resident has

4- Name one war USA fought in 1900

5-

6-

7-

Forgot the other 3 , after asking the seventh question ( I answered all correct :) ) he stopped ( there were 3 more on that paper)

Than he congratulated me for passing the test and said he is recomending me for approval.

He also gave me 2 papers

1- approval recommendation letter

2- Oath appointment letter for Sep 29th.

That's it i was out with in 10 min :D:D:D:D:D

Thanks wanabe_texan and Kikidoug....Good to see that everyone has progressed well with their applications.

My interview experience was great and I am approved for naturalization. I was there 25 mins ahead of the scheduled time but surprisingly I was called in 5 minutes earlier than that. It was quite the same experience that I have been reading about on this forum. The IO went over the N400 application after the oath. oh and she took my ID , passport and green card as well. After that she asked 6 test questions, I got all right and passed the test. She was in good mood and did not want to spend too much time on the verification of the supporting documents. She asked me if I have other documents with me that I want to share,I said I have the originals if she wants to take a look on them but she seemed fine with that. It was pretty quick n took about 15 minutes. Oath ceremony is on September 30th. Well thats about it. I am happy , I am glad n I am over the moon :lol:

Thanks InternetKafe and Kiki for the comments. I'll most likely make an infopass appointment and let everyone know how it goes.

Good luck yorker123. I am going to try my luck tomorrow at infopass also. I don't know if there will be any improvement but I will cross my fingers for that.

Yay! I had the oath ceremony today in Baltimore at 11 AM. :thumbs:

We arrived at 10.30 AM - parked in a garage near the Federal Building ($12/hour). There was quite a long queue through security - showed my appointment letter and ID and went through to a holding area. We were then all ushered upstairs to the ceremony. There was a lot of people - around 200. After being seated, we had to line up, hand in our green cards, collect our little flag and some historical booklets and check the details on the certificate, then go sit down again.

We stood up, the national anthem was played and an officer then gave a small speech on what it means to be a US citizen. Then there was a small welcome video from the president, then another officer gave a speech.

We then all stood up, raised our right hands and gave the oath of allegiance (we were given a paper with it on to read). Also, everyone in the room had to stand up, and we all said the pledge of allegiance.

Four officers then started reading out peoples' names and you had to go up and collect your certificate. There was a small break where you could ask any questions, then we could go.

It was a nice event, a bit hectic as there were so many people, but generally well organised. The little booklet they gave us on US history is quite nice!

That's it then! Hard to believe it is over really....next stage...passport application and social security update.

Finally some good news from me. I checked with infopass and found my case was approved yesterday and oath date being ordered but not set yet. It is a big relief... :P Now I only need to wait for them to schedule the date for me.

03/01/2010 - Paid AOS and IV Fees

03/09/2010 - AOS and IV Fees Showed as PAID (delay = system was down)

03/10/2010 - Sent IV and AOS package to NVC (I have a representative)

03/12/2010 - Package received by NVC

03/17/2010 - Package registered in the System

.......................waiting for interview schedule, sent mom a copy of the AOS and IV package

3/25/2010 - Case completed at NVC. Waiting for email notification for interview date.

Treyu, I thought you are luckier than me. Have you tried calling the customer service 1-800-375-5283 and ask for the 2nd level IO about your case? I can't input my receipt number there so I have to press 3 to get to the CS and than ask the CS to transfer me to 2nd level IO because the 1st CS got no up-to-date info. I asked if my case was approved and if any oath date being arranged. Mine was approved on 9/23. Maybe you have the exact same status as mine so no need to worry.

Someone said maybe it's because of a big ceremony on 9/17 so the approval being delayed. It might be the reason and hope the our OL are on the way.
