Hi, guys just received a letter from VSC telling my wife to get her biometrics and or finger printing stuff i guess done. It was scheduled on a saturday? Is this a mistake. I thought the Homeland securities are closed for the weekends. Also do i need to accompany her? As I have to work on weekends, which is busy so is hard to ask my boss for the day off. Thanks guys in advance!

Many ASCs are open on weekends (Saturdays usually).

You (the USC) does not need to attend - it is a simple process - I went with Karin but ended up sitting in the waiting room for 10 minutes while she went and got her fingerprints and photo taken.

She'll need to bring:

  • Original Appointment Letter(s)
  • Photo ID (Passport or similar)
  • Marriage Certificate (if name change)

A1) No it is not a mistake. Some ASCs work on Saturdays half day. It is very normal.

A2) No you don't have to go with your spouse.

Tell her not to forget to take with her State ID with photo or Foreign Passport and

Bio. App. Letter

GOOD LUCK !......

It's no mistake as other contributors have rightly said. I did mine on a Saturday and when I checked my status the following Monday, it had been touched. So get your acts together as has been suggested and your wife will be fine. Good luck.
