Hello, While we haven't received an email for our interview yet, I wanted to know if there are any fees that my husband would need to pay prior to the interview...Is it the $131.00 ? Does that all come in one email??

Also does he need to take the receipts of the fees which I paid here in USA to the NVC ? (like the $400 and the $70) ?

Besides the DS 156, proof of marriage etc, does he need to carry anything else to the interview ?

Getting desperate here

Thank you all.

Hi Chalupa718,

Are you talking about K3 interview ?I see in your timeline that you sent your packet 3.For CR1/IR1 we need the copy of all the documents submitted in US just in case they ask.You can also check a thread about CheckList of documents to take for Interview, Mumbai consulate .

My case was completed on may 27th and I am waiting for NVC to schedule my interview date.

Hi San2009, Yes it is a K-3 visa for my husband in India. Our case was already completed in the NVC and we are now waiting for the interview in Mumbai. Wow you are so lucky your I-130 was approved so quickly!!!

I will check the thread on checklist for more info.

Thanks!

From your timeline and your description of paying AOS and DS-230 bills at NVC it doesn't seem like you are going through K-3, looks more like you are going through CR-1, which is stand alone i-130.

Since you are going through CR-1, you don't have any other fees to pay at Mumbai consulate, other than courier fee at VFS, which I guess is around 394 rupees and whatever the medical bill would be.

Before going to Consulate for the interview, your husband will have to submit Medical report(he can submit it at consulate also), another copy of DS-230, photocopy of interview letter and the courier fee at VFS.

On the day of interview your husband will carry VFS receipt, interview letter, proof of bonafide marriage and do give him copies of your AOS for just in case situation.

Hi Trinket, thanks for your reply... I guess I had been a bit confused with k-3 visa and CR-1. But now the most important thing is waiting for my hubby's interview... The NVC said June was booked for Mumbai consulate, so maybe in July (which is what we are hoping for)

I spent all last night reading about the VFS fee and medical exam procedures..

I just hope everything goes fast and smoothly for him :)

Thanks again!
