Hi,

If I get the US citizenship and go back to my country permanently after that,

do I have to come back to US on regular basis like 5 years or something like that so as not to lose my Us citizenship?

Thanks.

Normally have a good imagination, but can't seem to imagine why you want to become a USC if you don't intend to stay here. Can't be SS benefits, would make a lot more money sticking FICA taxes in a bank. And if you are not here, do you really care which group of idiots we elect to run this country?

There is no requirement for traveling back to the US.

Check section 349 of the Immigration and Nationality Act.

It's about loss of citizenship.

You can go anywhere for anytime period If you are US citizen.

You do not have to come back to US except to renew your passport which can also be done at US Embassy.

There is no limitation or permission to get.

Once my wife receives citizenship, we plan on moving back to her country and giving things a try there. We LOVE to travel and having a US passport makes traveling much easier--Visa free. If we do decide to move back to the states, we wont have to go through getting another GC.
