I'm over here getting everything ready for the CR1 and am about to mail my I-864 packet. The 3032 was sent out today, both mail and Email.

As I'm doing this, my wife (in costa rica) picked up her packet from the embassy for the K3. In it it has the instructions for her medical exam and estimates the cost at about 200 bucks. My question is if she schedules and takes that exam, can the results be used for the CR1 when it comes time for that? Or would that require another exam?

We were going to see which will get her here sooner, cheaper, and with fewer headaches. Just trying to see when to make the decision as to which route.

Yes the results for the medical can be used for CR-1 visa, also needs to make sure to do the vaccinations too, they are optional for a K-Visa, but are required for IR-1 and CR-1 visas because the CR-1/IR-1 immigrant visa generates a GREEN-Card and that requires vaccinations. A K-Visa can defer the vaccinations and do them when adjusting status.

Many simply request to reschedule the K-Visa interview to allow the I-130 to reach the consulate and get the K-3 interview switched to a CR-1 interview.

Thanks. Something tells me that price was with the vaccines. If so I guess the best thing to do would be have her schedule the medical so it would be over with.

Yes, the medical results are valid for 1 year. It is an Immigrations medical. In our case we did the vaccinations at the same time as medical, even though our K-1 did not need vaccinations until adjusting status.

FYI for a K3 visa in Bogota they absolutley require vaccinations prior to the interview and the cost of vaccinations is separate and expensive.
