Ukraine, picking up passport in Kiev from Fedex

Privet, narod! :)

I read a few topics about this, but I don't quite understand how to do this: It seems that my fiancee would have to wait 8 days to receive her passport with visa to her home (her city is pretty far from Kiev). So we would like to pick up it up at the fedex office, since others have done that in 2-3 days. Does anyone know how to go about this? What do we tell them at the consulate? Or do we need to notify the fedex office beforehand? What's the address and phone number?

I saw some contact info here:

http://fedex.com/ua/contact/

but I don't know if it's correct.

Tell me how you did it?

Thanks!!!!!!!

Generally you will find that the time frame for completion is not as quick as you want. The 2-3 day average for completion is working days and weekends only add to the time. Your fiancee should become familiar with the embassy telephone receptionist as they speak Ukrainian and Russian. She can call this woman daily inquiring about the completion of her visa and then contact the FedEx office in Kyiv to arrange pick up. Unfortunately this involves waiting in Kyiv for several days, which might just add additional costs to your process. She is likely to return home anyway to say goodbye, pack and get herself ready. Unless she lives in a very small village, the FedEx delivery is usually pretty quick.

Believe me, we all know about the long delay and now you are so close. If she has any good friends that she can stay with in Kyiv until it's ready that is the best solution.

Also, remember, the visa is good for six months. So you can arrange her trip anytime within that six month period. The 90 day period in which to get married doesn't start until she arrives.

Are you ready for her arrival?

When you get the pink card and go to the FedEx window one of the delivery options f for them to hold it at the Kiev FedEx office. Ksenia can just check that option. They will also ask for her cell phon number and they say they will send a text message when it is ready. Don't count on it. It is usually there after 2 business days. They will give Ksenia the number to call and check if it is there. As it turns out, Alla is going to be at the consulate the same day as Ksenia for Sergey's K-2 interview and can probably help her.

Sorry I didn't see this post earlier.

Since Ksenia has her interview on a Thursday, she will probably receive the visa at FedEx on Monday.

Ok, so I understand that you can specify that you will pick up the passport from the office. It's ready in like 2-3 business days. Does anyone know HOW LONG they will hold it for? Like, can we pick up in a week?

Not sure about that. I think it is a FedEx policy matter. Maybe check with FedEx

Granted it's been a while for us, but when we were given her receipt after the interview, as you leave the Consulate main building, there was a man sitting at a desk in the general visa area just inside the double glass dorrs. He was the FedEx rep if you will foir the Consulate. We paid him something like $8.00 and were given a FedEx waybill that we took to the FedEx office that evening, showed the gaurd and was allowed in. There was like 30 people waiting as well and they call the names out one by one.
