its your choice... but i would suggest CR1 is better than K3 but no one can tell who is more faster...

but the benefits of CR1 is better than K3...

CR1 - you can get your SSN and 2 year green card 2 weeks or a month after your arrival

K3 - once you arrived in USA , you have to apply for Adjustment of Status (AOS). You should file before the K-3 Visa expire. this will be more expensive than CR1

Here is the flow chart of K3:

People who decide between the K3 and CR1 used to go for the K3 because it allowed the foreign spouse to come much quicker. Personally, my K3 was the exact same waiting time that my CR1 was. I know the CR1 is cheaper in the long run, as well you get a green card immediately when you're approved. Keep doing your research on this site (see the guides), and read up definitely on the information. It's a lot of work, but you'll slowly learn as you go along :)

where are you from? send in the I-130 first... you'll have one or two weeks to gather data for K3... if you want to file K3 by the time you got your NOA1 for the I-130, then file it. If not, then just continue with the I-130 which will lead to a conditional green card.

Use the wiki and guide.. above to start your research.

Documents yOu'll need. marriage cert, birthcert, previous divorce... annulment... or death cert, the I-130 form, G325A form, photos of your wedding, i think 2x2 photos... and other evidences of bonafide relationship.

I'd suggest you gather these documents and file the I-130 before you launch into the debate on whether or not to file the K3, you'll have time enough for that. If the wife is does not want to work, or you are financially well off and can spend money on the Adjustment of status, file both... and use whichever comes out first. If not, use the I-130 route.... less headache in the long run.

Everything depends on the individual's situation... nobody can really tell you which one is better for you. You have to actively seek out information and tailor your decision base on your needs and lifestyle. good luck!!!!

I would suggest to go with CR-1 and not file K-3, if you read posts of a few months ago, a lot of people complained that their process was slowed down because they filed 129-f for K-3.

You might want to start by reading this guide, it might seem complicated at first but read it a few times and you will get it. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask in the forums, we all have been through this and it might feel overwhelming at first but things will find its place.

CR 1 is the route to go. It is cheaper and takes almost the same time as K3. One less form to fill. And you get the conditional green card within a month of POE and you can travel outside US with your green card immediately after you receive your green card.

Good luck.

I-130 sent 7/27/08

NOA1 8/01/08

NOA2 11/26/08

POE : Chicago

First welcome letter 4/28/09

Second welcome letter 5/5/09
