10-year Greencard production hitches

Just wondering if anyone has contacted the USCIS to specifically ask if there is currently a problem with the card production process. It seems for awhile they were spitting them out within a week of approval and now they are not being generated at all. Seems whenever I call the hotline I get someone who must have just started the job that day; i.e.; they know less than I do about the immigration process! Maybe someone out there has had better luck getting to the bottom of things.

Thanks.

If it ain't one damn thing, it's another......

For what it is worth, I have *seen* a rumor on another imm. forum, that the facility is undergoing renovations and that's why there is a delay in card production.

Source of rumor here: http://britishexpats.com/forum/showpost.ph...mp;postcount=15

AOS: ND - June 5 2006 | RFE - June 15 2006 | FP Notice - June 30 (Rescheduled to Sept 16) | AP ND - August 14 2006| Walk-in FP - Sept 5 (FP cleared next day!) | Interview - Sept 8 2006 (Approved!) | Welcome Letter - Sept 13 | EAD received - Sept 19 (kinda moot since I'm waiting for GC) | GC received - Sept 23 2006 - Woohoo!!

I-751: 06/10/08 Mailed package to VSC direct (per memo instructions) not TSC. The wait begins... | 06/11/08 Package received at VSC (12.12pm) | 06/19/08 Check cashed | 06/20/08 Received NOA1 in the mail - ND is 06/17/08 | 07/10/08 Received Biometrics Appt Letter - ND is 7/7/08 | 07/22/08 Biometrics (had to do ink & paper also...) | 07/22/08 Touched | 07/23/08 Touched | 02/11/09 Transferred to CSC (got email)... | 02/12/09 Touched | 02/20/09 Touched (but no email) | 03/24/09 Approval letter arrives in the mail! Approval date is 3/18/09 from VSC | 04/03/09 Received card, postmarked 3/31 from CSC

N-400: 06/11/09 Mailed to Lewisville Lockbox | 06/12/09 Package received at Lockbox and signed for at 1.31pm | 06/18/09 Check Cashed | 06/19/09 NOA, PD 06/12/09 | 07/06/09 Biometrics letter received, ND is 07/02/09 | 07/24/09 Biometrics appointment | 08/06/09 IL received, ND 08/03/09 | Interview 09/14/09 at 9.30am (approved!) | Oath 10/21/09 | USC

The rumor does not make much sense...stamp of 12 months is nothing unusual. And why cannot USCIS make an official announcement? I understand there would be a lot of complaints, but still...there will be complaints one way or the other. People are complaining anyway all the time, and this is something you cannot hide.

As long as they mail the card within 30 days from card production ordered, I will be happy. Mailing GC within a week was too good to be true anyway.

Rumor is rumor. Although I'm not sure how many GC production facilities are out there, but my co-worker and a friend who just got approved on their I485 (family based) on Mid April and Early May are both having their green card in hand within 10 days (including weekend). Once again, I'm tired of USCIS's excuse of I-751 being low priority cases. They think that we already have the old expired GC and NOA (still effective), so we can wait longer than other so called "high priority" cases. Again, "first come first serve"? What a joke!

I called USCIS this morning to inquire about my Green card. It has now been more than 43 days after approval letter . I spoke with someone and explain my case. He asked me when i initially filed and my name , address , approval date etc... then he told me that since i have been waiting for more than 30 days, he is going to send an inquiry. He promised that they should respond by email within 45 DAYS(*&^). So let's see if this will generate a card production email like it did for antanD....

2/25 transfer from VSC TO CSC

4/7/9 Approved

4/12/0 Approval letter received

since then, still waiting for physical card...

The thing is....my case was transferred to CSC from VSC and my approval letter came from VSC. I'm confused about where the card is generated. I never got an email about card production ordered and my online case status says 'petition received' (duh).

Hi Everyone,

To all of you still waiting: "Don't give up and be persistent!".

And by all means, especially if you are "outside of the standard processing times", I definitely encourage you to:

1) Contact your local congressperson/senator/ombudsman for additional expedite help. (which I did for the 2nd time)

2) To call the mis-information line for inquiries. (which I did for the 1st and 3rd times)

This is what happened when I last (for the 3rd time) expired/inquired by calling the mis-information line about my case, which resulted in "card production ordered", 2 days after I called: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...p;#entry2949460

Meanwhile, I still have to do is wait for in the mail for the actual card, which I'm guessing will take about 5-7 days or so....

Hope this helps. Good luck on the rest of your immigration journeys too.

My approval letter came from VSC and the card came from CSC a couple of weeks later. The approval letter said within 60 days (to receive the card). My online status also still says petition received. I doubt it's ever going to get updated

I totally agree CanAmCharlotte i called USCIS to ask about why i have not obtained my card as yet in the mail.In the system the dumb customer service representative was still telling me im not approved. They have no idea what they are doing or how to do their job.By giving the same redundant information over time. The woman told me call back in 30 days if i have not recieved my card.I have not even obtained an approval letter yet since 04/28/09 approval.I think its going to take up to three months to get my card. This is totally unacceptable. In the end i would have waited a year lol the exact year that VSC was not supposed to take to have card production ordered and to get out of this limbo.I am at the point now where i am not applying for citizenship i just want a break from USCIS period no more stress.

Today is 15 days since "card production ordered" e-mail. Something is definitely going on, but it is hard to believe that the production of GCs got halted. I wonder if there is anyone on forum who got the same e-mail after May 1st and received the physical card valid for 10 years? Anyone? :o

Thanks! I've had the approval letter for eleven days but with the USCIS it's always a 'hope for the best, expect the worst' scenario.

I know a friend, not me, and she's not on the forum. She applied I-130/I-485, not I-751. She was approved on the first week of May. She has the GC in hand within 10 days (including weekend) valid for 10 yrs (her case is not based on marriage). Hope that helps!

I was correcting my CR status to IR through I-90. My I-90 case is still pending online although I got a snail mail saying my application got approved. I really do not mind waiting for another two weeks, I just hope all is ok and that this time they will not mix up gender or put a wrong picture.

If by 30 days you still haven't get the GC in hand, feel free to call the mis-information line and ask politely to speak with a higher up. Good Luck!
