hi every one, i was wondering if i could use a photocopy of my birth certificate, or if i had to order a copy of one. And if i do have to order an official copy, how would i obtain one, and how long would it take.

and i have another question pertaining the F-129. They asked me for my certificate number, date, and place. is the certificate number the local registration number that is on my certificate, or is it the other number?

USCIS no longer routinely requires submission of original documents or "certified copies." Instead, ordinary legible photocopies of such documents (including naturalization certificates and alien registration cards) will be acceptable for initial filing and approval of petitions and applications.

The cert number they are asking for is if you are a NATURALIZED citizen, this is the number on the naturalization certificate, NOT birth cert number. So if you were born in the USA then "N/A"

i photocopied and it was fine...

Concur, only a copy is needed for the I-129F.

Thank you! i also have another question about the F-129 petition. I am having problems with number 10 its states,

10. My citizenship was acquired through (check one), and i checked, Birth in the USA, then it asked me:

Have you obtained a certificate of citizenship in your name? If "Yes," give certificate number, date and place it was issued.

Now do i check yes or no if i was born in the US? is this my birth certificate?

If born in the USA you dont have a certificate number. Birth cert is NOT a naturalization cert. As I said before, write N/A for cert number.
