 Hamilton smells.

Anybody else from Southern Ontario? I can't believe I'm the only one so far!

Uhh Kitchener is southern ontario  Do we need to have a geography lesson my dear?

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

Ok, the words I were looking for were, "I can't believe I'm the only one from the Niagara Region!" I tend to forget there is more to Southern Ontario then my Niagara bubble...

One of my best friends is from St. Catharines :)

ChadLaure - I bet I live really close to you - I'm right on the border of Etobicoke/Mississauga. My sister and a few of my friends live around Royal York and Bloor. My sister's husband is also from France - Rouen :) Do you have go to Merlot? French Restaurant on Bloor?

I'm on Royal York and Lakeshore and I work in Mississauga (401 and missisauga road)

That is cool for your sister, french people seem to love living abroad:)

Hey Minnie, yes I did go to St. Angela's Academy. I graduated in 1999. It was the best and worst 2 years of my life. The sisters were great. My favorite was definitely Sr. Pauline. She was an ex-hell's angel's biker chick back in the day! ~giggles~ She was the driving instructor who drove us on the wrong side of the Trans Canada Highway! I've got a lot of memories from that place and I was sad to see that it had closed.

Hmm for some reason, the poll won't work for me. Anyhoo, grew up in Kirkland, QC then moved to Oakville, ON at age 15! Been living there up until last Nov, when I moved here!

I have travelled a bit over my years. From Saskatchewan, to Quebec, to Ontario, to Fremont, California, to Sparta New Jersey, to Montague New Jersey, to Calgary Alberta, to Claresholm Alberta, to Richmond BC. I have lived in BC for over 20 years the longest place ever and hopefully after the 22nd of June I will be able to go to Hawthorne California where we have had 1 large earthquake and one significant after shock two days later.

Right around the corner from us :)

Mel is from London, Ontario, born and raised. She lived in Winnipeg for a bit, but as she tells me it was one of the most miserable places on earth.

I usually cringe when people casually ask me "where are you from?". I don't really know how to answer that question anymore.

I know that feeling! I grew up in Rochester, NY, which is EIGHT HOURS AWAY from NYC but whenever I tell people where I am from, they will always say "you don't have a New York accent." Well, d'oh, I have a Raaaachester aaaaccent. But my whole family is from the Philly area, my parents retired to Bellingham 11 years ago, and I lived most of my adult life in Arizona and California because I really SHOULD have been born west of the Continental Divide. But now I've been living in the midwest for 8 years and own a home here, so maybe now this is home. Except I live in Illinois...but I live in a suburb of St Louis, Missouri...so even that isn't all that clear.

My husband is the Canadian half of the couple, and for him it's easy: he was born in Manchester, England (England, across the Atlantic Sea...etc....) but he lived in Edmonton from the age of 6 months until he moved here last summer.

From the hellhole in Central Ontario -- Guelph. Home of the lame, bored and the weird...

Are you kidding me?? Guelph is by NO means the "hellhole" in Central Ontario. I am from Guelph and seriously, if you think THAT is a "hellhole" then you obviously need to get out more :P

That was the problem, I did get out too much. All my good friends all moved away when we could. Actually it was my friend who termed it "The city of the Lame, bored and the weird".

Ok to to visit once every few years, just to see how things changed, but that's about it. Now they're having a big drug problem there and hearing the city is getting more and more degraded...

I'm just a wanderer in the desert winds...

Wouldn't you say that about every canadian place you've been though? :P

Sonoran- I visited Manchester quite a bit during my life so far as my gran used to live there and I've got a bunch of friends there. I actually have an ex boyfriend there (long story) Love Manchester! If I hadnt found Jared, I would have moved to Manchester eventually.
