hi VJ people we need your help.....my best friend in the Philippines is looking for a LAWYER it should be San Jose, California base LAWYER if possible a lawyer that going back and forth to the Philippines to handle her CHILD SUPPORT problem. I know this is hard to find but we are hoping here in VJ somebody could recommend us one of this days.

An American citizen lawyer cannot practice law in the Philippines..if your best friend have child support problems, an she is based in the Philippines , she should find a Filipino lawyer, but then again if the father is a US Citizen and is based here, I don't think your best friend can seek child support because of jurisdictional issues. Nonetheless, your best friend can try looking in the internet.

August 16, 2010 - Petition received by USCIS Vermont Center

August 20, 2010 - NOA1 received

October 4, 2010 - Biometrics

January 3, 2011 - Permanent 10 yr. Green Card Received.

I have used a filipina lawyer that is based in San Mateo, not far from San Jose. Her name is Evelyn Alfonso and the number is 650-340-8314. I just went there two months ago for a consultation on my case. She specializes in immigration and family issues.

Thank you so much for the info....now got confused......before i posted here in VJ i spoke a filipino-american LAWYER here in NEW YORK he told me to find a california base lawyer regarding our problems. I told him the whole story and he is possitive that we could seek a child support as long as we could prove that he is the father.

I sent you guys a private message....hopefully if u have time Myla you can call me or if you can give me your phone number would be better.....if i am not mistaken your a LAWYER? right? we are an OLD member here in VJ...i remember one of your post that you are a lawyer in the Phillippines....u can call my cellphone anytime at work in your convinience.....again thank you so much for the info...

SORRY...I knew I am out of topic!!!!...lol..... PROUD to say SINCE we are a member in this site for a LONG time this site is very helpful in DIFFERENT issues and most of the people here are very kind and INFORMATIVE. We met lots of FRIENDS in different state and of course we miss them!!!! Though our JOURNEY is OVER we're still BROWSING every single day!!! And very PROUD to be a VJ member.
