I-130, Question Number 22

hello everyone! :) it's me again, asking the most mundane questions that anyone can think of. *worry* *worry*

on the I-130, question number 22 states "Complete the information below if your relative is in the United States and will apply for adjustment of status." But just within that question is "If your relative is not eligible for adjustment of status, he or she will apply for a visa abroad at the American consular post in:"

My husband will be in the UK during the CR-1 process. So are we qualifying for the second part of the statement "not eligible for AOS" and "apply for visa abroad" and therefore put London, UK? Or do we just not answer the question because it starts out with "if your relative is in the US"?:wacko:

i heart all your VJers for answering so many of my lame questions :)(L)(L)

You'll want to leave the "AOS" question blank and put in the city where you will be having the interview (London I guess) in the "consular post abroad" part

Good luck.

Hi chrissiemissie,

Never leave a blanc in any form you send. It's better if you put NONE or N/A rather than leave a blank on an answer!!!

Put N/A in both parts for answer of the question 22, but don't leave blank. Just so you know!!!

Have a safe journey :)

Good luck.

Unfortunately Chris and Ani is wrong. You mark the NOS section N/A and indicate London, UK in the other section. In defense of the confused, it's a poorly designed section of the form.

Sure, but if you're calling USCIS for your answers, you need to know we don't call it "the misinformation line" for nothing. Clearly, you are not qualified to be answering this kind of questions. Since there ARE numerous people here who are qualified, I suggest you become a student for a while longer before you again attempt to be a teacher.

Since there ARE numerous people here who are qualified, I suggest you become a student for a while longer before you again attempt to be a teacher.

Well, we did put N/A in the first part, and the US Embassy Consulate in Sofia, Bulgaria in the second part. As it comes to the N/A answer in part one - it was right (not going to argue about the second part). I don't know how it was 4 years ago, but this is how we did it 3 months ago, and we got our NOA2 a week ago...

I will take your advice and wait as a student a while longer before I become a teacher. Although I recommend that you should take the time to read a while longer before you become an ####. But, who am I? I thought that this was a friendly forum where we all shared experiences and ideas and tried in good faith to help one and other.

By the way, "to be answering this kind of questions" would be correctly worded "these kind of questions". But, I will not attempt to teach. Or, "this kind of question". Your choice on a grammatically correct very rude answer. Again, not attempting to teach.

This was your answer.

Put N/A in both parts for answer of the question 22, but don't leave blank. Just so you know!!!

It's the wrong answer. This IS a friendly forum. The most unfriendly thing you can do is give the wrong advice. You're dealing with peoples' future happiness. Had they followed your advice, NVC would have assumed the beneficiary would apply for the visa in Poland instead of London. The transfer would have delayed their happy reunion at least two months. Not very friendly at all. If you don't know or your knowledge is four years old, please let somebody else answer such critical questions.

I'm not saying my knowledge is 4 years old. Your knowledge is 4 years old! We just received NOA2. You received yours in 2006?

When I wrote that I recommend that you should take the time to read a while longer before you become an ####, I meant read carefully - I posted earlier that my husband walked in into the Boston office and spoke to an immigration officer, not that he called USCIS to double check! :star:

In the future I believe that the moderators should direct all "critical" questions to you!

Because you clearly are the only one who has ever completed the process!

I guess we can agree on one thing. I was mistaken and you are an ####!

You clearly sound like a person who is in need of a hug :innocent:

hello everyone!

Or do we just not answer the question because it starts out with "if your relative is in the US"?:wacko:

i heart all your VJers for answering so many of my lame questions :)(L)(L)

this question got me worried later on in the process after i had filled out and submitted my I-130. i had not answered that question atall. but my case was approved. however, i would suggest filling out that information. not sure if it really matters but better safe than sorry!
