HI WELL MY HUSBAND IS FROM JERUSALEM ISRAEL,(PALESTINE) MOSTLY ALL MARRIAGES ARE ARRANGED. ME AND MY HUSBAND HAD AN ARRANGED MARRIAGE, YOU KNOW HE ASKED MY FATHER FOR MY HAND IN MARRIAGE, BOTH FAMILIES AGREED, ME AND HIM AGREED TO MARRY EACH OTHER. WE HAD ENGAGEMENT PARTY FIRST, THEN I CAME BACK TO THE STATES, A YEAR LATER I CAME BACK AND WE GOT MARRIED. SO WE GOT TO KNOW EACH OTHER BASICALLY WHILE WE WERE ENGAGED THAT WHOLE YEAR. DO YOU THINK THIS WILL BE A PROBLEM AT THE CONSULATE IN JERUSALEM??? IM PRETTY SURE THEY SEE LOTS OF ARRANGED MARRIAGES IN THAT COUNTRY, ITS IN OUR RELIGION AND CULTURE TO HAVE ARRANGED MARRIAGES. WE HAVE LOTS OF EMAILS AND LOTS AND LOTS OF WEDDING PICS. WE LOVE EACH OTHER SOOOOOOOOO MUCH. SO DO U THINK OUR ARRANGED MARRIAGE IS A PROBLEM, LIKE I SAID, THEY PROBABLY SEE MANY ARRANGED MARRIAGES, SO WHAT DO YOU THINK???????? WHAT SHOULD MY HUSBAND SAY? I WANT HIM TO BE HONEST ABOUT EVERYTHING, LIES ARE NO GOOD FOR THE INTERVIEW.

Hi, Jeluslaem should be use to cases like yours sence it is culture and religon , but make sure if they do ask to tell them you both had a choice in your answer to marry are not, that is basically why muslims ( u are muslim right ? if not sorry) have long enagments to get to know one and other before takeing the big step b/c you are allowed to not marry the person if u dont like them after geting to know the person during a long enangment, but you guys did love each other ( im hopeing lol) So Just make sure they know like i said if ask, You and your husband did have a choiceand it was not a forced marriage. Plus im sure if they do ask your husband has many reasons why he asked your father and you for your hand. " I know alot of people dont understand arranged marriges but im sure in juruslaem they should b/c its mostly the way things are there"

One more thing make sure who ever is having the appointment take alot of pichers, emails what ever to prove you guys do love each other and best of luck.

To me I think my marriage was arranged in my heart with God. I saw my husband and knew I would marry him. My husband felt the same way and he is Muslim. Anyways.....

like my dearest Kenza said, dont bring it up, your marriage is real, and not for immigration reasons, so bring pics and evidence to show its real. You will do fine at interview. Bet wishes for a wonderful life together.

Truly happy!!!

New life, new adventures, and a new attitude.

married1989, although I am not from JERUSALEM, my timeline is similar to yours. My now-husband was here in US for his business trip from his work and we got engaged after talking to each other for only a week. I had option to do court marriage then but I wanted some time b/w engagement and marriage and my family happily agreed to this. So we waited about 10 months before we got married. I don't think case like ours are at all unusual so don't worry too much. At the interview time, they may ask why did you stay engaged for such a long time. Just reply honestly to that and you should be fine...

The key thing to remember in the interview is that you are completely married to your spouse - program your mind in that fashion. The Interviewer is trying to determine if all these documents and you and him as person are legit....

If you have doubts already before going into the interview, the Interviewer will only exploit this to their advantage. Remember, you are asking for Interviewer to grant you the VISA so that you can be together with the person listed as your spouse in the application.

No reasons to create doubts...like one person said earlier - answer only what is asked and be straight to the point with the correct state of mind. No worries hopefully.
