Immunizations and Pregnancy

My wife recently arrived in the USA, and she says she was told it is dangerous for her to get pregnant within the first year following one (or more?) of the immuniztions she received. I have seen nothing about this. Does anyone else know about this?

Thanks

know the vaccine/s of your wife and do a research about it or call ur health department and ask what are the restrictions of a specific vaccine.

What kind of vaccines did she get and from whom did she get that advice? Coz I just had my immunization yesterday at SLEC for MMS and Tdap, all the doctor told me was that I should not get pregnant within two months. That's all they told me.... oh, plus the follow up shot of Tdap when I get to US.

Mostly likely your wife means within 1 MONTH after the last dose of vaccine. She can't get pregnant if she just received MMR and Varicella (live vaccines) which both can affect the baby's formation.

Avoid getting pregnant for a month and that is HPV. If you are pregnant you should not get the vaccine. The vaccine appears o be safe for both the mother and the unborn baby, but it is still being studie. Receiving HPV vaccine when pregnant is not a reason to consider terminating the pregnancy. Women who are breast feeding may safely get the vaccine.

I was advised not to get pregnant for 2months after having the Varicella & DTaP...i have since been told, Professor at Chicago Medical, this is a guideline and they have NO proof that these vaccinations cause any problems with the babies development if you happen to fall pregnant before the 2months is up.

1 year is too much. From what I remembered, a staff from St. Luke's told me not to get pregnant 1 month after receiving the immunizations.
