I got mine first because I'm just so gosh-darn cute, I guess. :star: Nah, luck of the draw.

No, you got your's first because they know your husband doesn't want to do biometrics ;)

Hee hee! He's relieved we only have to go to Van Nuys for biometrics; gives him an excuse to hit some of the guitar shops out there. We currently have only seven guitars in the house, which is clearly far too few.

Congrats, Lisa! And flutter -- here's hoping something good happens soon. :star:

Grr, why no biometrics for (most of) us Maypeople yet?

It's not that I'm even bothered about how long it's taking... more that I've been reallly looking forward to getting to take a whole day off work in honour of having to go and get fingerprinted and all that. I want my day off!

But congrats, Maven and little4ele on getting yours.

I called for a service request yesterday (just hoping that they might let slip some tidbit of information that would explain the dearth of recent infopass appointments), and the very nice lady cheerfully took all my details, asked me for the receipt number from my NOA, and then announced in a grave voice that that number wasn't coming up in her system. I asked if that was usual or something that I might need to worry about, and it was only then that she REALLY cheerfully announced that the I-751 receipt numbers are in a "different system" and therefore are never, ever recognised. Not sure why she bothered trying to find it then, but oh well! She also took my home, work and mobile number AND my email address - I can't see a response coming via any of those methods, but apparently should hear the results of the service request within 45 days.

Flutter... any news on Noah??

That is where I am becoming concerned. If you get anxious, and say so here about the delay, folks jump down your throat with "Be patient, it just takes time!"

But, as in your case flutter, USCIS alleges they already issued and mailed both the NOA1 and Biometrics appointment letter. So being patient, in your situation becomes a dangerous thing!

When we first filed the I-751 I was brimming with patience and felt this stage was the easiest yet... NOPE!

I read your thread about getting the stamp, good idea, and obviously necessary given your 2 yr green card expiring, but very scary in the sense that USCIS is telling you they don't know why you didn't get two very important pieces of mail.

Flutter... any news on Noah??

When you get your biometrics done has nothing to do with the Service Center. Unless of course the Service Center has lost your case.........

Biometrics are scheduled by your local office or sub-station. How busy they are determines how quickly they get the biometrics appointment notice to you, and how soon the appointment will be.

Cheers, RJ! And... yeah, I know it's the local offices, not the service center who schedules the biometrics - not sure if I came across as thinking otherwise, but that's not the case. I actually asked if the service request would go to the local office in Cincinnati, and the woman sounded very confused, and said (very slowly, like I must be a bit dim) that no, the service request will be handled by the California Service Center, as that's who's handling my case. I then mumbled something about "but the biometrics appointment would be scheduled by the local office in Cincinnati... here... where I live... wouldn't it... right?" and she repeated the same thing about the CSC. Oh well.

Before you edit this list, please make sure that your VJ Text Editor setting is set

to Rich Text Editor. DO NOT JUST COPY AND PASTE. You can change your Text

Editor as follows:

1. Click on My Controls at the top of the page.

2. Click on Board settings at the lower left of the page.

3. In the drop down box under Posting Settings, change the type of editor

from Standard to Rich Text.

4. Save this change by clicking on the "Change my Account Options" button.

Then go to the most recently posted version of this list (go to the last post and

scroll UP) and "Reply" to it, deleting the "quote" tags at the beginning AND END of

your reply.

* Please DO NOT change the font, font size, add colors, stuff like that.

* Please PREVIEW before posting to make sure it is properly formatted. (A common

mistake is somehow screwing up so you have <b> and </b> HTML tags in these very

instructions instead of actual boldfaced text.)

REMEMBER: "Date of I-751" is the date you sent your petition - NOT the date it

arrived at the service center. "NOA1 Date" is the 'Notice Date' shown on the NOA1 —

NOT the date you received it.

Really? That has changed, then, since we did AOS 2 years ago (and from the K1, etc).

During the AOS process I also used my NOA receipt number to check my status online but for ROC things are different. Down at the bottom of my ROC NOA it says "Upon receipt of your ASC appointment notice, you can find the status of your case online..."
