and caregivers is a term that is used in the US...

What is a CareGiver?

We don't have this position in USA

It must be specific to PI........

As I know, they wipe butts/clean the elderly. Who do this here in US? Nurse or midwife?

In Long Term Care facilities in USA, what we call Old Folks Home Usually either a LVN (Licensed Vocational Nurse) or CNA (Certified Nurse Assistance).

LVN goes to school for 1 year and sits for NCLEX/PN. CNA are like nurses helpers.

Not in the Medical or Nursing field

Sounds more like a Nanny / Baby Sitter for old people............

I applied to work for an agency that hired out people to go work for older people who were still ok to be living on their own but needed some help.. they were specifically looking for people who had some kind of nursing degree... which I didn't have ..... they did hire me, in case someone needed help that didn't require a medical degree but I never heard from them...

I think in PI you must go to school for 6 months or 2 years to become a Care Giver.....

Caregiver is a six months course and after you need to had an oral examination at TESDA. They said that they will make it two year course, hope they won't.
