I had my interview for K-1 on April 27, and are still waiting for a decision. I was just wondering if the K-1 doesn't work out, could we go the K-3 route?

Interview??

From what I understand they tell you right then and there after the interview if you're aproved or denied....

Can you give us more info, so we can help you?? Where did you have the interview?? What are your timelines??

If you want to use the K-3 you guys need to get married, since this visa is used to petition your spouse not fiance....Once married then you petition for a K-3

When you have a K-1 interview you are told immediately. There IS no wait unless you had to file a waiver or something like that. Could you expound on this a bit more?

Yes! but of course you need to get married first then you can file K3 which would be a new case. Just curious what happened with your K1 interview did they tell you anything? Hope you'll get an approval soon!

At the interview I was told to come back the next day to pick up my Visa. When I went, I was taken aside and told that my medical results were incomplete. I was then told to go home, and the panel physician would contact me.

Once I was contacted, I need to get a letter from my Psychiatrist to the panel physician. This is the tricky part. I requested the letter in January, and was told in March that the letter was sent straight to the Consulate in Montreal, and that I was not able to get a copy of it, or have a copy sent to the right place. But in May I was able to get a copy and send it the Saskatoon. I was told that that was all the physician needed.

I then got a call 2 weeks ago saying that Montreal was confused about the results, and that I needed to go back to Saskatoon (a 3 hour drive) for yet another medical. I did that last week, and was told that I passed the medical, but the final decision is up to the Consulate.

This is why I was wanting to know about getting married and trying for the K-3.

Did you or your fiance contact the consulate again? do the follow through and don't give up yet coz if you go with a new case (K3) it would take couple of months again for the waiting.

Given all that, then you have been waiting a week for your case to be reviewed as prior to this the Embassy didn't have the complete medical info.

First you need to confirm the Consulate got the amended letter, which you sent last week, and then inquire what the decision (or hold up) is.

So call/email them again or have the petitioner call.

What a nightmare though.. I hope its all sorted quickly.

How is getting married and filing in order to do the K-3 going to solve this. You will still be required to have the same as what is required of you now. I would be sorting this out for the K-1 as starting all over again with the K-3 is going to add several months to your journey...this on the other hand should be able to be sorted out a hell of a lot quicker.

All the best.
