Hi all,

Does my wife have to have the NBI clearance before i send in the I-130 visa package; she has a local police clearance from her city, but not yet the NBI, i did not know if we needed ift first ofr if we needed it later in the process?

What country is your wife from? if she's from the Philippines..YES, she needs an NBI Clearance.. NBI Clearance is much important than the Police Clearance.

It's way too soon to get the NBI now. It won't be needed until the visa interview at the consulate. You will want it to be fairly recent for the interview. It is not required for filing the I-130

Try to get the NBI clearance before you get your NOA2. Since youre just now mailing the I-130, no. You want to time it. NBI cert is valid for 1 year.
