DO WE HAVE TO CALL USEM?

HELLO GUYS!!!

I'm just little confused about ON HOW TO SET AN APPOINTMENT TO USEM....? I just wanna ask if we my fiance and i should call the usem to set an interview for K1...?

Some of my friends said that no need for us to call usem to set an appointment for an interview coz once the usem received the documents from nvc, they will automatically or they will be the responsible to give you an appointment for an interview...and the usem will send you,your appointment letter using air21...?

Is this information given was right???

please do help..thanx in advance...

You can do either way.I remember I called USEM first and when i learned that my papers were already there,my husband immediately purchased a PIN and called USEM for my interview sched,as soon as the interview was set up,I received an email regarding my appointment details.

here what i did personally to verify the status and interview date

example

HI, GOOD DAY, MY NAME IS (APPLICANTS' NAME, DATE OF BIRTH, PETITIONERS NAME AND DATE OF BIRTH). I WOULD LIKE TO INQUIRE ABOUT THE NEW STATUS OF OUR CASE.

OUR CASE WAS COMPLETED ON (DATE) VIA NVC AUTOMATED 24/7 VOICE SYSTEM.

I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF YOU HAPPEN TO KNOW IF WE GOT ANY SCHEDULE FOR ME( MEDICAL AND THE INTERVIEW).ANY HELP IS HIGHLY APPRECIATED. THANK YOU VERY MUCH

note:

* If you are an attorney, include the name of the law office requesting the information.

* If the petition is employment-based, include the company/organizational name.

K Visa Interview Appointments

Starting March 19, 2008, those applying for K-1, K-2, K-3 and K-4 visas who have been notified by the Embassy to prepare for their interview can call 1-909-101-7878 (within the Philippines) to schedule an interview appointment at the U.S. Embassy. The cost of the 909 service is U.S. $0.98 per minute; this amount will be charged to your telephone bill.

Applicants, Agents or Petitioners calling from within the United States will also be able to use this service by calling 1-888-877-9888. The cost of the 888 service from the United States is a U.S. $18 PIN payable using a Visa or MasterCard once you have called into the service.

Applicants or their representatives must have the applicant’s Immigrant Case Number as given in the Embassy notification letter available when they call to schedule an appointment.

Callers can speak with an English or Tagalog speaking operator. The service is available to the public from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, Manila local time.

once you have your MNL Case number given by NVC, wait for 5 days or one week then call the US Embassy Manila and ask if you can get your appointment schedule. check the website of US Embassy, your husband can purchase and get a pin number to call the embassy and get your interview schedule. goodluck.
