Got back from nyc last night. Dorothy I could kick myself for not asking for your number before we left but we were so short on time there probably wouldn't have been time to meet anyways.

What should have been a 4 hour trip turned into 8 hours on the way there and 7 on the way back. Stupid truck rollovers.

Anywho I managed to upload some pics but the camera we used sucked so it's a lil blurry.

Here's the Top of the Rock. We went there the first night. He wanted to have the Empire State Building in between us.

Here's a hookah lounge in "little Egypt" that he LOVED. It has a flag of his favorite soccer team on it. He walks in there and immediately is in an intense conversation about the game that happened earlier that day. lol

Mombar is an Egyptian restaurant that was featured in one of Anthony Bourdain's travel shows. This is the outside of the restaurant.

We got to know the owner's wife and her little son so she took a picture of us and gave us free tea. Picutre came out sucky but oh well.

Here's the inside of the restaurant. I just thought it was so cool and you can see the chef in the kitchen makin' my tilapia!

I'm pooped so good thing I have the rest of the week off! I highly recommend going to little Egypt if you're in NYC. The people are super friendly and my husband was in his glory. Actually we saw an ad for a 3 br appt that was totally affordable but I don't think I could convince the kiddos to move since they are so tight with their friends here. I definitely would move though if they were older and out of the house. Definitely on our list of places we might move to!!

ahmed got called back today (week later) he got the job and starts monday, he has only had 2 interviews and this was really his first. Its a good start.....

Thanks! Did you go to little Egypt at all? I actually smoked the hookah and liked it though it was plain tobacco. He said I could get my own but it was all the men you see in that picture and they kept staring me everytime I sucked on the hose. rofl!!! Kind of awkward but I do want to get a smallish one and get some apple flavored stuff. One thing I noticed is that it didn't feel as strong as cigarettes feel BUT I could still feel it in my lungs like an hour after whereas a cigarette is long gone by then.

Love the pics Bridget, glad you had a good time even if the traffic was really bad. Its nice to get out and do something different every once in awhile.

Olivia, I did send you the Arabic books. Most of them are new and never been used and there is one computer program for learning Arabic that is brand new I got for you. The only book you will see that is really used is an excellent dictionary. If you buy it on your own it is expensive, but I had two though they were both worn. Inside there is a chart for how to break down Arabic verbs and make them into nouns, adjectives, etc. You'll have to study for awhile before you'll really understand the chart but it is very useful. It also goes with that dictionary because the definitions are broke down into measures. The chart explains each measure and how to identify it. I also wrote you a letter but it is hidden inside one of the books because I went the cheap route and sent the package as media mail. They said you should get it within a week. If you have any questions after you get the books feel free to ask.
