Medical Exam Questions

My fiance just completed her first day at the medical exam.

What can she expect for Day 2?

Is there some kind of interview? She said a lady asked her questions but I thought there was a more in depth one.

Also...will she have a Sputum test or do only certain people have to take those?

Sorry to sound stupid, but what exactly is this dreaded Sputum test I keep hearing about and why would she need one. I read some stuff about it having to to with TB. She never had TB before so is she safe?

Many thanks

Anyone been through the medical yet? I also heard about psych evals. When do you find out if you have one of those? What questions do they ask?

if she was told to go back to slec for vaccines, most likely she passed the medical exam.

sputum tests are usually done when there is an anomaly in the x-ray result e.i. a scar plus if she tested positive on the skin test. somehow, they automatically suspect exposure to TB and they are very ####### about that. if the x-ray result is clear, there should be no further tests like sputum culture or skin test.

psych evaluations as far as i have read around here are usually done to those who have scars on their wrists (they check for this during physical exam)

Day 2 is for the vaccination and the release of the results. They don't really release the results to your fiance but she has to sign a paper so they could release it to USEM. Anyway, if she asnwered YES to the question HAVE YOU EVER BEEN EXPOSED TO SOMEONE WITH TB? then most likely she will be asked to go under the TB skin test, even if the lung X-Ray is clear. If she answered NO however, she has nothing to worry about.
