Joint sponsor still accepted?

It's been a while since I visted this site so I just need this cleared up. My fiancee and I don't currently have sufficient funds in our accounts to cover the 3x$17500 requirement that I was told we'd need, but we finally have someone who's willing to be our joint sponsor and she makes more than the required income.

Also, our joint sponsor just got a promotion so her income has only just recently gone over the minimum requirement level, but she's held this job for a number of years. Will it matter that her pay has only recently reached the ammount needed or does she just need to prove she's making that much?

Thank you!

Just to clarify - is the US Citizen (presumably you) not working?

Joint/Co-sponsor: Although she will need to include a recent income tax return, she will definitely want to include recent pay stubs (these recent pay stubs is what the Embassy/Consulate will calculate her earnings from).

There's no child, I was told we'd have to have 3x that ammount saved up if neither of us are earning that much.

My fiancee is the US citizen and she's working, but not earning enough as yet. I'm currently not working as I have to study.

What is the difference between what she earns and what the minimum requirement is for your household size? (If she has little/no savings and/or little/no assets then it may not matter. Reason; it is the difference that can be made up by using savings or assets.)

You need 3x the amount of difference between what she the USC is earning and the poverty guidelines x125%...so right now it is $18,400. Last year it was $17,500. so as an example...

She make 12,000 a year that leaves 6,400 so u would need $19,200. in assets to make the $6400.x3 equation equal to the $18,400 needed to qualify.

Hope this helps
