Paranoid — Please doublecheck photo

Hi — I'm finalizing my K1 packet and when my finance and I went to get passport photos taken, they cropped it funny so it was 1x2" instead of 2" x 2".

So I recropped the file he included on CD along with the printed photos and came up with this.

I believe it meets UCIS's requirements, but could someone please double check me so I don't commit a time-wasting mistake?

Thanks. :)

Well, i hate to tell you, but your face turned blurry, so maybe they need to focus the cam. :star:

Heh, the original is sharp. But the composition is what I'm worried about. Is the cropping too tight at top/bottom?

When I mailed out the original petition I included Canadian sized passport photos, which are bigger than the american standards. It never caused me any issues... I don't think they worry about the photos to much.

Provided the picture of you is large enough that they can clearly see you and recognise you, I don't think there will be a major issue.

Most of the problematic photos are where people have their heads turned, or hair over their eyes, placement in the picture is off-centre etc.

It's a pity that each country seems to have a unique passport photo size. You'd think in this modern era of shareable data and international standards, they'd have worked out a no-brainer like this. :)

ROC

AR11 filed: 02/05/11

I-751 filed at Vermont Service Center: 02/07/11

Biometrics appt: 03/21/11

RoC Interview: Not required

RoC Approved: 08/04/2011

Echoing the sentiments not to get too hung up on the photo. Just do the best you can. My fiance sent me UK passport sized photos, which are smaller than the US size. While it is important to have the proper size photos later on in the process, we knew that these photos are only used for identification purposes so we risked the RFE. While each situation is different and certainly they could decide to RFE for that, we got our NOA2 without any problems.
