Hey, can someone give any advice? Or anyone has the same experience?

We just received a letter from NBC dated 04/14/09. The subject is 'case file review notice/ interview document check list'. However there is no interview date mentioned in the letter?! Is that something strange? How will we know when and where to interview? What shall we do next?

The content is:

"After a complete review of your file and application for naturalization (form N-400), this office has found additional documentation may be needed. Unless previously submitted, please bring the below requested documents to your naturalization interview. Please do not mail in these requested items.

Along with this original notice, please bring the applicable items listed below to your naturalization interview. All documents must be clear and legible.

You should be properly attired and be on time for your interview. Late arrival may result in the need to reschedule your interview. Bring all required documents to avoid delays in processing your case. This is a general checklist and since each case is unique, you may be required to produce additional documentation at the time of your interview. If your situation requires further details, you will be notified.

x Bring your state-issued driver's lisence or state-isued photo identification card."

I would suggest wait for interview letter or call USCIS customer service (try if they give you interview date) or make online INFOPASS appointment.

Also, get ready with the requested document (s).

I am not aware that NBC sends such a mail before the actual interview notice. I thought this letter was sent by mistake. Do you know how long it will take for them to send the real interview letter after this letter is received? When going to the interview, shall we bring more supporting documents besides state issued ID?

Thank you.

Thanks all for your reply.

Yes, it's on the yellow paper. I think i did not include a copy of my ID in my N-400 package so that they notified me to bring the ID to the interview. Maybe that is the thing i missed but they did not require me to mail it to them only to take it to the interview.

I have another worry. I did not receive an biometic appt. I sent my package at the end of Jan. I contacted USCIS at the beg of Mar to find out when I would receive fingerprint appt. They sent me a letter by mail telling me my fingerprint still has not expired that's why i don't need to take it again. My last FP was taken on Mar 8, 2008 for my I-765 application (10 year GC).

As i recall, i read somewhere that FP is only valid for 1 year. If i go to Naturalization interview soon 'let's say' in May, my FP will be considered 'expired'. What will they do to me?

Last time i had my fingeprints done August 2008 for removal of condition..

If you didn't receive i'm not going to receive either..

as far as i know fingerprints are valid for 15 months..

I'm sure you are going to receive your interview notice before your fingerprints expire.. you should stop worrying about it

Good Luck !!

I saw several members here have had discussion on how long the FP lasts. Some say 1 year and others say 1.5 year. I remember i read one member said she/he was sent to have FP taken by the officer at the interview and then she/he came back for the interview because her/his FP was taken 1 year and couple days ago. The officer told her/him it's expired.

You will be fine.. Don't worry so much.. You see , even officers can take your fingerprints at the interview..

My problem is i need to travel at the end of May for a month.. I'm scared to get bio notice when i'm away..

But now, i don't think i'm going to get it..

Don't think too much as i do :)

Hey, can someone give any advice? Or anyone has the same experience?

Unless previously submitted, please bring the below requested documents to your naturalization interview. Please do not mail in these requested items.

You should be properly attired and be on time for your interview. Late arrival may result in the need to reschedule your interview. This is a general checklist and since each case is unique, you may be required to produce additional documentation at the time of your interview. i suggest that if u don't have any experience with he n400 process, don't give inncorect answers to people...

that yellow paper is a just document checklist that normally comes before the actual interview letter..

so don't confuse members with infopass and staff... :bonk:

Hi Wil,

Must be a frustrating time to wait and wait. There's not much you can do but wait and see what comes in the mail. There's no official word on how long the fingerprints are good for. USCIS offices differ from State to State, and have different rules. Plus when you call the USCIS customer service line, they give you mixed information. Seriously, call them 3 times in a row and ask them the same question, you will get different answers.

The yellow paper is normal, some people get it, some don't. It's just to make sure you get your documents in line before you go to your interview. This is by no means any indication of when your interview letter is going to arrive. I personally waited for 2 months before I got my interview letter after I got the yellow letter. Again every office is different, and they work differently.

You can call the USCIS everyday if you like. Won't really do you any good. I did, because I was bored and they asked me to call back if I had any questions. So I did

Good luck and um try to relax mate.

They did not really give them wrong info. The part about calling them and asking them for an interview date might be a little too much, but the rest is great. Call the USCIS, heck if your close by go there. Won't do you any good, but at least you can try.

How long are fingerprints valid?

At the November 8, 1999 Texas Service Center Liaison meeting with the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), a question was posed to the INS regarding the length of validity for fingerprints for Adjustment of Status applications. The answer was given as 15 months.

I give, who exactly is the NBC? We never had to deal with them, whoever they are. Certainly not the National Broadcasting Company.
