hi all,

So I'm almost ready to send out my paper for K-1 visa. I'm including phone bills as evidence of our on going relationship... but since he lives in India and a lot of times when I call him is from my cell phone via phone card, would that count still?

Thanks

That's hard to prove. I would send things like chat conversations or emails.

for the initial filing, just send in items that proved you met in person within 2 years, for example, boarding pass, VISA entry/departure stamps, a few pictures, credit card statements, etc.... you can save the phone bills, emails, chats, for the interview. you should switch to a phone card company that allows you to download the call logs. http://pingo.com is a good one.

Because your eventual consulate is in India, you may wish to try to include some phone records in your I-129F filing now. There have been reports of Indian visa interviewees not being allowed to present evidence in person when they show up for their interview. If you "front-load" your I-129F filing with some extra evidence of your relationship, the consulate will not be as able to deny later that sufficient evidence is being presented to validate your relationship. Please consider this.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Get a phone company that gives you records. At least until the interview. Make short calls "for the record" and use the cheap way for long calls.

If you can't afford that you can't afford your mate!!

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

!! ALL PAU!

it's not about affording.. I can. and actually I just realized that last week I signed up w/Airtel and I can get call history from them. So I'm not as worried. I will just include the history from them and the history from my cell phone, when he called/calls me.

Thanks for the help :)

Your timeline is not filled in, so I can only guess you mean you are filing the I-129f. Unless for some reason you desire, you would not send phone bills with your petition. Only proof of having met within two years.

Try going to the website "PennyBoss", they have many discount phone cards you can "refill" on line and give a complete call history just like a normal telephone bill.

Another cheap alternative that documents calls, duration, date and numbers is skype unlimited country.

We've been using Skype for years but unlimited country only recently came out middle of last year. Basically, for about 6 USD, you can call any mobile number in the country of your choice (some countries only allow landlines but US allows mobile numbers) from your computer using skype. It also includes a local skype number in the country you chose so your SO can call your local number from his/her mobile which will be received as a call on your computer with local charges to his/her bill.

It says unlimited but the fine print says something like 10,000 minutes a month. Which is plenty good for 6 USD a month. In any case, my skype local number gets printed on his monthly phone bill and there is a monthly skype call history you can download and print.

N-400 Stuff:
07/02/16 : N-400 sent

07/11/16 : NOA1

07/28/16 : Biometrics

04/03/17: Interview (approved)

04/14/17: Judicial oath ceremony
