Expecting Interview in June

Hey atk_721, I know this is one of the most difficult time. AP is not big deal, but prob is in some cases its taking too long.

I was also on AP afer successful interview. But thanks God i was cleard in about 2 weeks. AP can also take a while. I saw the day i got visa, a old man was on AP for 11 months and still no answer for him. I was scare to hear that at that time.

God willing i was not part of that long process.

I will say call once in a week, thats what i was doing. It will not fast the process, but maybe some one can give you usefull info.

No worries th3mo...inshallah you will be done soon and in the arms of your wife again! I can't even begin to know how you feel because we didn't go through AP, but still I know the waiting is harsh and unbearable. It is so hard to see so many illegal immigrants here in the US and then see how long and hard the process is to immigrate the right way, legally. I pray that God blesses all of us in the visa process (we will have to deal with it again to apply for the 10 yr green card soon) and that they find a way to speed up the process and make it easier for those coming legitimately!!

I know it is really killing as we dont no when is it going to be over...I think it would have been easier if they gave us a time frame .....Every time I call they say that dont know how long it can take We have been married since jan 2006 eversince we are living apart and dreaming abt our life together....Its just so heartbreaking that a person's origin and religion affects this immigration process so much....

Keep the faith th3mo and atk. We'll just keep praying that it is over soon. At least the interview portion is over and you are a step closer. It is probably because of all the trouble that is happening in the middle east right now so they are taking extra precautions. Your wait will be over soon I'm sure. Hang in there!!!

Finally!!! HI TO ALL!!!

Wow what a long time for me..... well POE was good and easy... about 20 min, i don't have any document yet...but maybe next week.

I'm happy here and i really like the appartment. (and now with the internet and the cable it's much better). today I've been reading the post and all this day with no internet i'd been remembering you all...

I hope AP ends soon for you Atk and Th3mo.... and my prayers will continue....

I apologize for being absent for such a long time.. For those who are united with spouses, congratulations and I am sure you can understand the busy-ness. Just updates on my side, we got welcome letter on Monday (7/6) and SS card today (7/9). We did go to SS office the day after POE. Hopefully this will give idea to all who are waiting..

th3mo, atk - I sincerely hope you guys come out of AP soon. I am so very sorry, I wish we could share bit of luck with everyone so those in need can have some.

Feel better soon Eca. If they give you trouble at POE, just say the landing made you sick This is just a blind suggestion. Hope your POE goes smooth..

so my hubby is here im so excited!!!!!!!!!!!!! so i was wondering how long it takes to get SS# and green card???

Ours took about 16 days (including weekends, the day of POE, and the day of SS card arrival in mail).

Thanks a bunch KD for ur prayers....Inshallah i will hear soon.With each passing day,I do get pessimestic as It might take years .But still have faith in God that He is not gonna make me wait like that as I have waited long enough since I filed for this petition.

I am not sure if it is necessary to go or not, we just went because I like to cover all the bases. Some VJ members suggested against it saying it will duplicate and start manual verification (not sure what that is). We took a risk and went thinking, in worst case scenario, we get turned down by SS office.

We got 3 welcome letters so far, all same. One was before we got SS card and two were on the day we got GC. I am wondering if any more welcomes are coming...

Take this time to start preparing for the life ahead. It will get super-busy once your spouse gets here :-) Some things you can suggest your spouse is reading about driver license exam, researching on job/education, etc. Good luck to both and wishing a speedy process.
