Hello everyone,

Let me start this month by sharing the good news, my husband's visa is APPROVED!!!!! I just got a call 10mins ago. I am so happy :D:dance:  I don't think I was even this nervous on my wedding day or for that matter, any day.... I'll post the details later. But here is a summary

In terms of documents, they asked for my 2007 tax returns (since I did not file tax return for 2008, only extension), wedding invitation (ours were not translated), and bunch of other documents.

For interview question, only 3 or 4.

Your wife lives in North Carolina?

How did you two meet?

Do you intend to work in same company in US? (My husband works in IT field in a company and the headquarter of the company is in California)

Again, I'll post the details as soon as I get details. Good luck to all and THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL THE SUPPORT. I can not empahsize how much your support and responses helped me...

CONGRATULATIONS Champi :dance: You must be absolutely thrilled! Great news to start the month of hopefully more good news for us all.

Congratz Champi and Kotana..we are looking forward to know about details of the interview...seems like it was a very easy one though...

Kotana..you said that the pre-interview they asked for pictures before wedding and certified marriage forms...the pre-interview doesnt really count for anything right? it's the actual interview that counts?

wowowow CONGRATS CHAMPI!!

ok my question is: Is it possible that i can still get my stimulus next year? Since i wil be getting my SSN once i arrived in USA on JULY.. Can my husband ammend his tax status? What do we need? I think the ITIN is if the spouse are still out of USA>. but since i will be arriving and getting my SSN - do i really need ITIN?

Kotana..you said that the pre-interview they asked for pictures before wedding and certified marriage forms...the pre-interview doesnt really count for anything right? it's the actual interview that counts?

Hi Ben and Ash,

I reviewed my interview experience in detail, will paste it into this thread as well. I don't exactly know whether the pre-interview counts for anything - the lady just checked all the documents forwarded by the NVC, asked me if I had newer picture for the visa (which i did) and asked for pictures with my husband. I gave her honeymoon and Christmas pictures, and she asked for pre-wedding pictures. Now, that might have been just her, but the other document - certificate of marital status (the municipality issues it and it says what is your martial status currently) was on her checklist. The checklist included all the documents forwarded by the NVC, medical report and a bunch of other items - DHL receipt, passport pictures, couldn't really see everything.

At the actual interview the CO didn't look at anything but the DS 230 from what I remember. She glanced at our wedding pictures as she was returning them to me. But i think she was briefed on our case by the first person. If you have any other questions, please, ask.

good luck to everyone else!

Here is a summary:

The interview process was very well organized. All the paperwork from NVC made it to the consulate, so there was no need for me to submit any additional documents. Once you go in and check out your cell phone, you walk into the interview room. The person at the first desk takes your passport and gives you a DHL form to fill out so your passport can be delivered back to you.

Then, a person calls you up from the desk marked - Immigrant petitions and checks all the paperwork that the NCV submitted together with you, asking you questions about your relationship in the meantime. This person asked for a certificate of martial status (udostoverenie za semeino polojenie) that one is supposed to get from their local municpality - I did not have one, but it turned out not to be a problem.

She asked me for pictures, I had some from the wedding, honeymoon and Christmas with my family after the wedding. She asked for pictures of us before we got married, I have not brought any, but it may be a good idea to bring some. After she checked all the forms and organized them for the CO she told me to sit down and wait.

The CO called me and she was very nice and sweet. She asked me to tell her the story of our relationship. Some of the questions she asked were:

1. How did you meet?

2. How long have you been together?

3. How many times has your husband been to Bulgaria?

4. Did some of his family attend your wedding here?

5. What do you plan to work there?

6. What does your husband work?

7. Where do you plan to live?

8. When do you plan to travel?

That was basically it. She asked me to swear everything on the form was true, and I knew the good news was coming. She gave me a little pin with the US flag and wished me good luck and all the best in America.

She was very nice, not at all arrogant or condescending or pushy. I felt very much at ease.

Good luck everyone!
