Just called NVC. They have finished scheduling interviews and our case number wasn't assigned a date. Was told to call again next week, and if there's none by then, we'd have to wait until next month!!!! But the thing is, I alreadychecked the USEM's web site and their new interview schedules are already posted. Our case isn't listed there.

I'm so depressed and frustrated. We need to expedite the interview for health reasons. But who do we talk to? Is it the USEM or NVC? How? I guess the USEM here is busy since I see other folks who got CC a few days before we did and they already have schedules. Any help?

USEM in BKK is pretty busy, it could take awhile to be schedule for the interview date after the case is completed but you can try to contact NVC for the health reason to expedite the interview, NVC might want to see the supporting documents about the health issue and they have their own limit for the kind of issue that they could expidite the case. Try contacting NVC and ask them about what you have to do.

Good luck.

Ao what we did to get our interview date changed because of my medical problem was to fax a copy of my test results to the visa unit at the embassy so they had documentation to view to show the medical urgency. one day after they received the fax we got the new interview date. this may be an option for you if you have such documentation. Best of luck

yeah, i don't know what is going on. i'm waiting for interview also. it seems that they think K-3 interviews are more of a priority than IR-1 interviews. it's frustrating. but i called NVC and the lady there told me that they would be scheduling interviews next week to. then again i have heard from other members here, that they are not scheduling interviews next week. so i don't know who is right.

The way the NVC scheduling works according to a few people I have talked to at the NVC is that each embassy sets a limit for how many interview slots the NVC can schedule. As Mommy said the Bangkok interview is pretty backed up. Mommy recently did a calculation and it was something like 15 weeks from case complete until an interview being scheduled. I have an interview scheduled for May 26th and my case was completed in March. I would assume that you guys would get either a June or July interview being approved at the begging of April. Perhaps a June because it seems like Bangkok was less backed up this month as I really didn't expect a May interview (but am very thankful for it).

As far as the expedite, I know that at this stage it is difficult. At the USCIS stage it is a bit easier, and after you have an interview assigned it would be a bit easier. It really depends on the severity and urgency of the medical problem. And who is the person with the medical problem. And why getting an interview sooner would make a difference in the medical condition, at least this is what i have understood from my reading. At this point the NVC has to schedule your interview so I would reccomend contacting the NVC but make sure you have prepared a concise, clear, well written explanation and evidence (doctor's notes, etc).

Hope it works out for you.

Take care,

Noi
