hey ladies,

mRS p, I AM in need of some assistance in how i go about making group arrangements for my friends to fly down and any of my VJ sisters to JA in october for my nuptials?? i know only how to get my blak azz to JA, i dont know about everyone else??

oh yeah, is anyone here familiar with Hibiscus Lodge? or Mahogany beach? I am looking for a nice location that is not a resort or maybe a villa for rent for the day.

Apparently bookit.com now does installments....sooo if you make the first booking just forward it to them and they make their own along with that. Luvtravelin on here is a travel agent, maybe try pm'ing her to see if she could do anything for you guys!

Thanks. I will try bookit.com.

'Manya,

I'm telling you, check on Just Vacations. The man I generally use is Chip, but the other two workers there are so nice and helpful. Girl, Chip was the one who booked our first trip to JA 4 years ago, and knows more about my relationship and drama than he probably should! He is a trip, and even since I've moved back down to NC he calls to chat! I love him! He was just pricing a trip down to the Bahamas for me in Aug. He is good! The address to the agency is 501 King Street, Alexandria, VA 22314. Their number is (703) 838-0040

Mrs. P, I just want to get thru with this visa process, I want Joel to get his 10 year GC, that's why I don't want to adjust status until Aug. In 2/2010 we would have been married 2 years. So id we do the K3, then file for AOS in Aug I will be fine.

But if we do the CR1, can we file for removal of conditions before the two years are up, then I will be okay with that aswell.

Looks like they schedule interviews for CR1's about 2 months out. If I'm approved in July, that's about time for an Oct interview. If it happens that they submit an interview date sooner, I will just ask for an Oct date.

Rox, when is your 2 year anniversary? It is my understanding that as long as you are married for 2 years upon your SO's arrival in the US, then you are given the CR-1 visa, and you will receive the 10 year greencard...can somebody correct me if I am wrong?

Shemmy, some of my best trips to the Bahamas has been those long weekend trips. Because if you are not a beach or casino person, there isn't much to do. They have some clubs at some of the hotels, but there wasn't much in night life.

And Rox, as far as I can tell, there is no AOS with the CR1...another reason why we went this route

That's it if he arrives here before 2/2010 then we will be issues a 2 year GC with conditions. Then 2 years later we have to apply to remove conditions, so that will mean that USCIS will be back in our lives again.

But you'll will have to apply to remove conditions from the 2 year GC later on.

Even right now with the Somali pirates is yet another example of the neglect Africa endures when they are in dire need of help. European tankers dump nuclear & other hazardous wastes in their waters & foreign fishing vessels decimate their supply of seafood for them to make a living & it has been totally ignored until the actions of the pirates. Finally what has really been going on is being brought to light but only by a few independent media outlets....CNN & the others will put a very 'anti-Somalian' spin on a lot of the stories. What none of these outlets want to state is that they've once again been put into their current predicament by the European nations and the U.S. with our total lack of concern for their basic human rights.

Somalia is one country that I have no sympathy for - because there are plenty there who have no concern for their own human rights- I worked a pro bono case for a Somalian girl who had been sold into slavery by her own father and brought to the US and kept as a slave by a Somalian couple that came as refugees - she was 6 at the time. Her mother and her older sister were physically disabled as the result of beatings - the things I learned through that case left me with such a taste of disgust, because poverty or not, US neglect or not - there is no excuse for the lack of basic human dignity and respect that exists there.

Obviously I am familiar with Mahogany - Hibiscus is in the same area - they are not in town, so they might be a nice location for the wedding, but maybe not the best for people to stay at - because they aren't walking distance to places. I think you are better off giving your friends a variety of options - I did that with mine, just gave them average prices, what sites to check, etc... We are all staying at Rooms. Carib Beach Apts are at Mahogany Beach, but they are individually owned so it wasn't working when I tried to book enough rooms for all of us.

Some airlines, if you email them direct, will give a discount rates - people just need to call and give the wedding party name - I know American does - but I think you have to have a large group travelling. I just gave my friends the info - I also did their rooms, I bid on skyauction and got them cheap rates -

My thing was that I gave them the info and different options and left it up to them for their flights-

Another place you could check into is Cara/Yankeesgirl's SO's family owns/run two resorts. That's where she and her family stay when they go down and it looks beautiful from her photos. I went to the website and they do weddings right there. She has the photos [osted on Facebook - I can't remember the names of the places though. Check her for the info.

Also, I have heard mixed reviews about bookit.com - and their prices look great, but they list PP, Not per night - when you average it out they aren't so great. I know cheapcaribbean.com is doing a deal where you can book now and plan with a deposit and pay the balance within `1 month or something
