You guys see how things are getting more serious in Jamaica.....A lone guman highjacked a CANAIR plane in Montego Bay Jamaica. He said he wanted to go to Cuba. Crimes know no boundries there now....So all who say we are hating when we try to give a good advice is acting silly.

U know my phone has been ringing off the hook with people calling me like see how bad it is over there blah blah blah.. Well wth all the crimes we have had here lately as well (in Pittsburgh three cops were killed, the immgration office in New York etc) I would say we have crime here too..

This is what I was thinking. Crime is bad everywhere and steadily getting worst. Police are being killed here in Philly too. Two 19yo's were just found shot in the head this morning and as the news continues...more crimes, more deaths. Sure extra precautions are needed especially in these desperate times but I would think you should take that approach with everything where ever you go. The world isn't a safe place anymore (wait...has it ever been?)

This deranged person hijacked a plane and demanded it to go to Cuba...it was already going to Cuba. You are not dealing with a master mind criminal here. This could have very well happened anywhere. It's just unfortunate that it happened in JA, a place we all frequent. Hopefully JA security will be improved as a result of this incident.

07/06/07 Back to US... left my hubby... sad, sad day

12/17/07 Left for Jamaica for the holidays

01/04/08 Back to USA... man I miss my hubby!! I really enjoyed spending the holidays w/ him...

02/07/08 I-130 approved... another step closer...

03/03/08 Received DS-3032 & I-864 Bill

03/13/08 Sent I-864 fee

03/27/08 Emailed the DS 3032 (hubby never received in mail)

04/02/08 Received notice from NVC that DS 3032 approved... I should be getting something soon, I HOPE

04/07/08 IV fee bill generated

04/14/08 Received I-864 Affidavit of Support... can't wait til this is OVER!!

04/16/08 Mailed off the AOS...

04/23/08 Received the Visa fee bill

05/09/08 Received DS230 letter, will mail this along w/ visa fee soon...

06/11/08 Went to visit my baby...

06/20/08 Celebrated our 1 year Anniversary!!!

06/25/08 Left my hubby... again... HOPEFULLY, this will be the L-A-S-T time!!!

07/23/08 SENT OFF VISA FEE TODAY!! I AM SO EXCITED..HENCE THE ALL CAPS, LOL

10/14/08 Case complete!! Waiting for the interview date.... HURRY PLEASE!!!

01/06/09 Interview date: February 17 @ 7:30AM!!!!!!!

02/03/09 Hubby's dr's appt. (All went well)

02/17/09 Interview day... APPROVED! He should receive his Visa the first week in March.

02/24/09 My bday!! AND hubby was called to pick up his visa!!!! GREAT BDAY GIFT!!

03/27/09 My hubby surprised me at my job!!! Can not believe he's finally here!

I am not blaming the hijacking on it being in JA - or that it should cause additional worry about safety in JA, although we all know it will for some - It's just crazy that it happened at all, and in reality, it appears to have been handled really well and quickly, without injury to anyone - Someone I work with just reminded me that today is a day when crazy things tend to happen - it's Hitler's bday, the 10th anniversary of Columbine, the anniversary of the Oklahoma City bombing,...

LOL - I heard he was white too - but then I heard he was from Mo Bay and the PM brought his father to the airport - who knows! How did he get past the checkpoint to enter immigration, the immigration line, customs, security - down the long hallway past all the shops - with a gun?

I have a friend who says they were getting gas at the airport and wasnt allowed ta leave. The guy went in through the employee checkpoints. He says em heard the gun shot and the people screaming. They detained everyone in the area for hours.

It is time for people to being naive and saying crime is everywhere, we all knew that. The problem is the magnitude of the crime. Suppose that hijacker has killed someone or evberyone on the plane.

The problem is that the system is so bad in Jamaica and the recession makes it worse. Maybe the young man did'nt have the first dollar to buy a ticket to go to Cuba. Remember, he did rob the passengers. Things are bad all over and people in deeper problems tends to take more drastic action. Look at Samolia pirates. You got to ask yourselves suppose you were on the plane and take things turn deadly. The problem people are getting robbed and killed in jamaica more regularly. Those of you that are travelling better remember that you are being targeted as people down there think that you have a bag a cash. You just cant compare Jamaica to America.
