for me i was a spoiled kid meaning my parents did everything for me and my brothers....my mom would cook everyday, wash our clothes, clean our rooms, buy groceries...so i had basically no responsibilities...i didn't move out of my moms house until my husband came up here so up till then my mom was still doing all that stuff and i was 28th yrs old....embarassing huh... ...so when my son was born (i was 20) having to wake in the mornings to feed him and to bathe him and just doing the typical things was just....annoying...i know thats bad... ....but just wasn't use to it...but my mom still helped me a lot and i was able to still go to school full-time and work full time...didn't really spend that much quality time with my son when he was young since i would work in the morning and go to school at night and sometime party on the weekends....my son is a very loving kid and we have a great bond so it hasn't affected our relationship at all...i guess since we were still living under the same roof but when he was smaller he would call my my mom mommy and on and off he would call me mom or call me by my first name (which i didn't mind either since i felt i wasn't really a mom to him)...so now i'll be raising this baby without my moms help since she doesn't live with us...and i'm dreading the moment right now....

oh i see.. i bet this will be scary then, BUT u have ur husband and u alone are well qualified to do anything that u are brought up against.. girl my mom tried to take control of how and what i did w/ my baby, but i am very independent and i wanted to do things my own way.. we would get into fights sometimes, she said when she had me (16) her mother took over and she just thought that was the thing to do, but not w/ me.. its funny cuz the times i did want help (baby crying at 3am) she didn't want to help LOL (who would???heehee)

girl.. u talk about embarrassing.. I grew up saying i wouldn't have kids, just never was interested. so when my baby needed her diaper changed in the hospital for the first time, i asked my ex husbands aunt to do it.. i was scared and i didn't know what i was gonna do once everybody left and i had to take care of that baby myself.. those mean nurses wouldn't keep her in the nursery..they wanted her to stay in my room, and i just wanted to sleep..girl its hard to believe that i turned into a pretty good mother remembering how i acted that first 3 days LOL

Mistakes are easy and I know I've made my share but looking back, I have no regrets because those mistakes are what made me who I am today. I was like Quana and my mother was like that with my first child for the same reason so I was out of her house by 17. I was always an honor student so I was determined not to be a statistic and to get an education. With three kids I guess I became super determined because I went to school part time and worked full time (sometimes two/three jobs) all the way through Law school and still graduated both undergrad and Law school with Academic Honors. I had an understanding baby daddy (and we’re still friends, but I found he is a good friend not a good mate) and an auntie who supported my educational goals so I was able to go to school at night and on the weekends. Now that my kids are older and I want to return for my Doctorate I don’t even have the same motivation. Maybe I’m burned out or maybe becoming the success that I am I can finally relax. But I definitely don’t think I would have been half as determined to become what I am if I did not have my kids. I was never one to go out or hang out but without them I’m sure I would have been a mess. I had a teenage and young adult life to my satisfaction, but I am loving my 30’s with my kids being older. I don’t think I would fare well if I was just starting out with a baby now.:wacko:

I combined the name, age, relationship status, & kids information that everyone has submitted so far. I figure it can be my personal reference to help me remember stuff about each of you.

If anyone else wants the combined version, I can PM it to you.

Can you PM it to me NAT.. Please and thank you

Nat, if you wouldn't mind, I would like to receive that pm as well. Thanks for being so diligent! :star:

SEEMS WE ARE ALL WATCHING THE SAME SHOW

Not me! I'm watching "So You Think You Can Dance," which I LOVE! These people are so talented. I sometimes get inspired to jump around as if I can dance, too.

Oh I use to watch that show, was tonite the first show.

oh u guys have facebook? we should link up..lol

Tonight was the second audition show. It started last week. I missed it last week, but was able to acquire it online. I'm on facebook. Search for me using this name @ou.edu.

After So You Think You Can Dance, I watched Make Me A Supermodel. Man... I'm in lust with Sandhurst, the guy from Trinidad. So gorgeous... :luv:

Oh ok I found u on FB....I havent seen Make me a Supermodel yet.....will check it out cause I wanna see wat this Sandhurst looks like!

DADA...u didn't know you were preggo until nine months???? or weeks?

Weeks!!! There is no way possible I could have went nine months without thinking it has to be more than the cookies and cakes...

It is possible! Have you seen the show on TLC "I Didn't Know I Was Pregnant"? It's about women who didn't know they were pregnant until the baby was coming out of them. I watched it once... pretty freaky.

Morning, everyone! It's already Thursday!

Yesss I have seen that show.....I was like how the hell they didnt know for that long.....but anythings possible i guess

Hey Tanya....so i see A is here in the states finally.....i was spying on your posts and a few others trying to catch myself up the past few months LOL.....how is that going???? what does he think of good old freezing NY???? I didnt have a clue her was even here casue you never mentioned it to me in comments on facebook and myspace LOL.....hope all is well girl! me and the babes are going back to see Richard next month........He is never going to beleive how much they have grown since February.....he sees them daily on skype now but i dont think its accurate to tell until we see him in person......lord i wish i would have thought of skype years ago!!!!!!!!!!!!! hahaha

Sorry for being nosey...I was reading your post above. Your SO (husband?) is back in Jamaica?

KK

hey KK......he hasnt been to the states yet.....our interview did not go so well and we were not approved.....i never posted about it so not many prolly realize this......good news is that the dept of state and congress is trying to get the problem resolved......the docotor screwed us and admitted to his mistake but refuses to fix it......anyways we are still doing the LDR thing and i take the kids down every cpl months to see him and i try to jump on a plane for 1 or 2 days every month......

Aww I am glad everything is workin out tho......1or 2 days every month thats a lotta traveling but the shortness of it would just be a tease for me!

WE WERE APPROVED!! :dance::dance::dance:

I'll post more upon my return in 2 weeks since I don't anticipate being back at a computer until then. I'll tell you all that it went pretty smooth & we were out of there by 9:00 a.m. The ladies that saw us were both very nice. We managed to navigate our way through Kingston although we had a few hairy moments with him not being used to driving in city traffic & me trying to help him with road signs. We also stayed at the Prestige the night before & I highly recommend it.....decent price, A/C, good food & very close to the embassy. Now we just wait for the visa which God & embassy willing will only take 5 days....please pray for us so he can come home with me!

No time to catch up.....gonna have a lot of pages to read when I get back but hope everyone is good!

Lata!

Congrats Ells.....dont worry enjoy yaself wit ya man....just know u gotta lot of catching up to do..lol

Hey ladies just want to say thanks to everyone who sent me PM's, they are much appreciated.

The journey may not have ended, time will tell. i am still numb, still angry, still undecided. Dont know if im ready to walk away or work it out, fight it out, or start over. All i can say, as many have told me, if it is meant to be it will be, only time will tell.

Peace

Honey

Amen....just take it one day at a time Honey

Hey ladies I know I have been MIA for a while but I do miss chatting with you all. My boo is adjusting well and even started driving. We went to Ft Lauderdale last weekend, and he drove all the way and back. I am sooo happy I think the happiest I have ever been. It has not been all peaches and whip cream though we have had our disagreements, but we have found a way to work through our differences.

Love I agree with you my parents always tell me marriage is not always easy but the main thing you have to have other than love is communication.....with out it everything frigg up.

Mawning Yardies happy Friday even tho it's dreary in NYC! OH by the way i hate immigration in ATL only straight flights for me now on! They are rude and a$$holes, they stopped me on my way back home and gonna tell me your a girl from NYC and you’re going to marry a farmer from JA that seems odd you couldn’t find no one in NY! I told his a$$ yeah I fount your daddy but your mom kept getting mad (im very sarcastic) lol I’m sorry he deserved it! He was like oh so you do comedy on the side huh?... jerk!!! Don’t you know they had the nerve to read this lady rap sheet out loud and announced she was a prostitute before and that she should of took her passport pic with her mouth open!! Then they confiscated 20 mangos from another lady and were like I’m taking these damn mangos home #######????? I forgot to tell yall about that! I was held for about a hour and a half good thing I had a two hour layover! In addition to that he opened up all my liquor to smell it????

 Eh Eh dem a try tek liberty a ppl now.......I like wat u said to him tho...good come back....if I was that lady wit the mangos I would have bit everysingle one since dem a go tek it anyway...why the hell was he all up in ya liquor like dat.

So, here is my very short trip report – the trip was very very mellow and laid back

All and all, the trip was a good one – lots of quality time, lots of family time – And meeting JAEng was awesome, we had an instant connection and it was like I met my long lost sister!

Sus welcome back, u sound like u had a wonderful time.....nothing like spending some personal time wit ya babes....brings u on anotha level each time I gotta visit some of those places...I am mostly in the Kingston area wit my SO.

I'm very excited today. In this super duper slow weight loss journey (moving even slower than my Visa Journey  ), I hit a new low number this week! For over two months, it's been bouncing up & down, but never went below this one number until a couple of days ago.

So today, I tried on black crop pants that I couldn't even zip after Christmas, and they fit! Still a tad tight in the waist/hips, but definitely wearable. :dancing:

These are the black pants that made me realize when I'd gained weight. About 1.5 years ago, I brought them with me on a trip (after not wearing them for a while), and I was SHOCKED when I put them on and they were way too tight to wear. I was like, " :o When did this happen???"

A year ago I got into the pants after having my tonsils removed. I lost 15 lbs in about 2 weeks after that surgery. But of course it all came back (with friends) shortly afterwards & no more black crop pants. :(

It feels really good to get into them again. I'll feel even better in the Future when they're too big.

Wow Nat thats good....so happy for you, theres nothing like fitting back into something..lol....I am always goin up and down also......I tend to lose weight when I am sick because I dont be in the mood to eat...is it me or does this happen to anyone else?

Hello to all of my Beautiful VJ Family.. I know that I have been MIA but I promise I am back and ready to chat!!

I was not commtenting on your posts because I am trying catch up!! I'm only on page 10....

10!!!! Aww damn girl we'll see you in a month!!!!

I agree.....Shoot I might get approved by the time u finish

Speaking of going to bed mad, ok I was eating some rice for the 1st time in weeks and was in heaven and my Hubby starts talking about the emergency surgery I performed on the dog and the maggots. :bonk: OMG I was sooooooo upset because for the rest of the evening ( don't mess with me and my food) LOL. But of course I forgave him and to make up he promised full body massages every night for a month
