how do you deal with the waiting?

i'm just 18 days in and sometimes i feel so antsy?

so how do you deal with it? seriously

what do you do to keep from going crazy?

A few ways - you have to stay busy and try not to focus on just this. Live your everyday life like it is - not like it will be when you get here.

Sometimes I would have to back off from VJ just because it made me focus more on the process, which at times was spinning out of control for me.

I also tried not to think about the big timeline...just think about today, then when tomorrow came, think about that day.

Finally...PRAY alot!!

Also, take the time to really enjoy your time in Jamaica, your friends and your family. It could be awhile before you get back to see them once you are here.

Bunza, I have been dealing with this process since 02/2008, the waiting is hard, and I have always said it is even harder when you are married.

The things that have helped me, have been the planning of every 3 months to come to JA to see my husband, the folks here on VJ, we used to have great Friday nights VJ parties. Some how things have changed along the way, we used to have great conversations on VJ, but people now don't want to talk about relationships.

You still needs to keep busy at home, that helps alot too.

Islandwoman, I am already planning for my husband first trip back home. Joel isn't even here yet, but I don't want him to feel so lost from his family right away. We will be going back home around Christmas, then it maight be 6 to 12 months later for the next trip back.

hey bunz.. i haven't filed yet, but being w/ my man since 07/07.. i can give my lil ways of staying sane LOL

like island says.. u HAVE to live ur life, i know he is ur husband but u will make urself crazy revolving everything around getting him here.. i couldn't sleep at night and would cry myself to sleep cuz all i could think about was him and the next trip.. but then i started doing more things w/ friends, attending more social functions, get on some kind of group or join a club.. charity maybe even.

something that keeps u stimutlated and somewhat distracted to be honest...

i also tried to limit my lovelorn phone calls.. lol.. u know the ones where u don't talk about NOTHING but how much u miss each other, how i can't wait to be in his arms, how slow this is going and its killing me to be away lol.. don't get me wrong, we have them, but i try to tame the little girl in me that wants to just curl up and whine a lil to my man. and "woman up" and just talk... about the kids and whats going on at work or the next soccer match or whatever..

It seems that he will be performimg this year in DC. Bunza, you can investigate as to why no mail from the embassy gets delivered in Jamaica. Do you think the postal people throw it in a GO TO HELL box? We could have had our interview date in June, the embassy emailed me back and said that they had sent out our package on May 8th. Well it looks like we might have a Juy date now.

That great Rox! Because we have no idea of the timeline for AOS and AP we can't plan anything - let alone have the money to do it after paying the chunk of change for AOS.

lmao @ go to hell box

our mail has its "challenges" although i must say they have improved

but you're not the first person i've heard complain about that stuff

does your husband live in a remote area? maybe it has something to do with that

or maybe the embassy thought they sent it out when they really didn't

Islandwoman, that's why I changed ours to the CR1, I don't want anything to do with immigration visa for a long time after Joel is here. I just want us to start living a life as a couple and family.
