i can't speak yet, i'm still in jamaica

but i know of a lot of ppl who left jamaica as professionals

and pretty much had to start at the bottom in the states because generally, work experience from certain other countries is not always well respected

so alot of ppl i know go there and start over as housekeepers, bus drivers, store clerks, etc.

about the money part, very few ppl i know have gone there and not made the kind of money they imagined they could make

i suppose everybody always feels they could make more money but most ppl who have left have been FAAAAR better off within a year of being over there

To follow up on that Bunz, do you ever hear people say they regret the decision of leaving Jamaica even though they had to start at the bottom again?

Mawnin...TL; are you ready?

Where is sus with my cup of coffee this morning, I hope she put some appleton in it.

I think so - I was up at 5 am this morning baking banana bread and throwing brownstew pork into the crock pot. I just talked to him a little while ago and he sounds like a ball of emotions - excited, nervous and sad. He said his family just keeps staring at him trying to take one last look at him for awhile.

TL; well, at least you're not there to see all that. I was with my husband when he said goodbyes to friends and family and it was hard to watch grown men cry openly, it broke my heart and I couldn't help but start BAWLING like a baby myself...and he's write, that's what his mom, dad brothers and other family members were doing, they just stood there and looked at him.

Yeah, I couldn't take that - especially since I'm a bawler.... (but no crying allowed at Dillon's wedding so I'm going to drink before hand!! ) He has said many times that he wishes I could fly with him since this is his first time but I told him it wasn't really a big deal - he has faced much scarier stuff in Kingston! I said just don't bring your pocket knife!!

OMG, that is me, i rock, shake, and roll myself to sleep!

HAPPY MOM DAY to everyone in a mom role.

ff30c7db.jpgso i look over and there is car with jamaica seat covers - it made me smile (i am not a stalker)

My sister too. She is getting slightly better but I just want to put a pillow over her head if she sleeps with me...

hello everyone

Good evening, My2 et al.

Hope you all enjoyed the day. I did! I worked with the 2nd/3rd graders for TWO services at church today, then went by my friend's house. She cooked a scrumptious meal for her parents (and me!) to eat before we went to see a one-woman play: A Rose Among Thorns, a tribute to Rosa Parks. It was really good!

Then! I got a call from one of the ladies who works in my apt leasing office. To my surprise, she did what she said she'd do: when not busy, look through every package back there to find my missing package (at least one of the possibly two missing ones). She told me that yesterday morning. Well, this evening she called to say that she found it! The apartment number isn't legible, but she found it by my name. I'm eager to see what it is tomorrow. Hopefully the missing mp3 player.

 What kind of mp3 player? What will be your first music add? I'm nosey!

Morning all and happy Belated Mothers' day to the mommies!

I did not touch a computer all weekend - I was partying, lol - Went to see my friends play Friday, then Sat night we went to see Phantom of the Opera and then to see another friends' band play - Sunday I cooked lobsters for Mothers Day - the whole family came over, including Teagan, the new addition - she's so cute, and really smart - took her out the porch door to the back yard once, when she had to go again she ran right to the sliding door.

She is a little cutie too...glad she is making the training easy!

Ditto what Sus said up to the partying. Since it was great weather here this weekend my kids and I did tons of chores around the yard, cleaned the house and my son scrubbed the winter season out of the car. I cleaned out 3 bags of stuff from my closet and dresser so A could at least have a section and two drawers.

I have been really hush about Anthony coming to my kids and family until I was sure. I told my kids on Saturday and my daughter has asked me at least a dozen times "is he really coming?? I'm so excited - I can't wait." As if the wait isn't hard enough - lol. We went grocery shopping on Saturday and she had to pick up lots of extras "cuz she knows he would like those".

Awwwww...how cute!!!

Good Morning!!! I'm logging from Alpharetta, GA this morning. I took a 6am flight from Baltimore. Let's just hope, I stay awake during my meetings.

KK

You are right there with my sister! You guys should meet up.

Hey philly,

Thanks girl. I know and on Mother's Day. :( I was with my mom and kids walking around Franklin Mills. After that long walk in my shoes, I guess my feet got tired and gave out. I fell hard on my knee and elbow so they still hurt and I noticed some swelling and bruising but nothings broken. I also hit my face on a bin but thankfully it didn't scrap and it's not bruising. Luckily noone was around to witness it but a store clerk and she was just worried about not getting sued. But, it was classic. I think one of my kids tripped me  but I'm sure I'll be ok.

Ouch! So sorry to hear this J2A....if the pain doesn't ebb in a few days...please go get checked out k? Slip and falls can be dangerous.

Happy Belated Mother's Day to all my yardie women. I spent the ENTIRE weekend in the bed...this damn neck pain. The doctor gave me a new nerve pill that has me very dizzy and off balance. However, it really does help with the pain. Well, I took it early (supposed to only take at night right before bed because of the dizziness and off kilter feeling)...and I got up to get water and some fruit...I was bumping into furniture and walls. I went to sit on the toilet much later...and instead sat on the canister that holds extra toilet paper. Can you say OOOOUUUCCCHHH!!! Good thing I didn't just plop down or it could have been way worse.:blink:

only until monday i have to save mi days for July definately a pop visit just hopefully i wont need my scarf and vaseline lmao nope i need a vacay i am going to enjoy the sun & rum i love having the airfare hook up lmao

Did I tell you that I was JEALOUS!!!! ---->Jealous bad pout

my friend boy toy works for the airline and he gets the airline vouchers that are expiring in a couple of days and havent been used because there is no re issuing on vouchers apparently he charges half for the flight but i get it for free

Here it is again....JEALOUS BAD POUT ---->

I was just hanging out in some other threads & saw something that gave me an idea:

1) So after you submit the I-129F, you're just waiting around for NOA2. (we ALL do this)

2) While waiting, get everything together for the interview. (most people do this)

3) Once you're ready for the interview, but still don't have NOA2 (if you're unlucky), gather all the AOS paperwork!

When I get back from Jamaica, I'll start working on #3. That way, after we get married, we can have more time for other stuff.

Awww sweetums...I think your NOA2 will happen the day you leave for Jamaica.

Hey J, remember my all back cat Rudebwoy the sweetie? Not Warlord the Five Star General he had a white spot ( he was crazy I took him to the shelter he was doing unholy things!) Well Rudebwoy passed away last week :crying: this is why I am trying to find another Kittie to cuddle with. Papito's (he was my baby with the white feet) Mom just had 3 kittens, my neighbor is taking care of them now, I can put in a good work for you for one of them. I'm so glad you are going back during the Holiday. We will never forget Hurricane Gustav will we ?

Philly, while I don't know what you remember about Gustav, that hurricane DEFINITELY is permanently etched in my memory.

I flew to Jamaica the Thursday it was scheduled to hit there, against the wishes of EVERYONE I know. But that was the trip where I wanted to see how serious things could get with my SO. It was during that trip (my 4th to Negril in less than a year) that I became 100% sold on him and our future. I love how we were confined to the hotel while the power/water were out. I still tell him that I want to "play Gustav" which means isolate ourselves from the rest of the world. Fond memories...

SO! I get home from work and check the mail and to my EXTREME delight, I had a letter from USCIS! I started jumping around and screaming!:D:dance: I was SO HAPPY about FINALLY receiving my NOA2.

I opened it, and it was merely a notice that they received my change of address.   No touch on the website.either.

OOOOOhhhh no...I'm with everyone else....what a let down! Sorry Nat!

Hello all!

Hey Brownie!!! Long time no see!

Oooo fill his stomach up and work it off!! That's my girl! I hate those sad goodbyes. I remember crying like a baby when Jonesie and Drew left me in Jamaica. I know I will be a mess when it is time for A.
