Went to try on my dress again today.

They're lifting up the front a bit so I dont trip on it, bringing in the top near my breasts and make a bustle for the back.

I'm honestly not too keen about the bustle, since I dont know what it'll do to my dress, but eh. I guess I can't win them all.

Alterations will be done next Wednesday and I'll be able to take it with me when I POE.

Oh and Sean lost his wedding ring today, so I had to order him a replacement.

We bought these rings in July of 2008 and we wear them on our right hand. The story behind these is, we decided we wanted a "couple's ring" so I searched online, and he went to the mall. Little did we know we both picked the same ring. I had the print out in my purse and when we went to the stores I saw the ring at one of the stores, but didn't mention it to him because I wanted to see what he liked. At the end of the day I asked him if there was a ring he liked. He said, "Yeah there was a ring I liked but you didn't seem interested in it." I had him take me to the store to show me which one it was. When he pointed it out, I pulled out my print out and told him I wanted the same ring.

Anyway, so a while later we decided we loved the ring so much we want to switch it to our left hands when we get married.

Here's a pic of the ring (but it doesn't do it justice!). It is really beautiful. It looks like waves crashing on the beach, which is where we are going to get married!

I'm not sure, but this place does them super cheap.

Like... 30 bucks maybe?

They're in Ingersoll, if you've heard of that city.

OMG I'll have to check that out... a co-worker of mine is from Ingersoll, so she probably knows of them. That's REALLY cheap... the place I'm buying my dress from isn't even doing a bustle, and I think they're going to charge over $50. They might have to hem it and just some small adjustments... though I really don't know since my dress isn't in yet :( I'll check out the link though.. thanks!

I'm not sure if you have to buy the wedding dress from there to get them to do the alterations, but it never hurts to ask.

Great news! Sean got his ring back! He thought he lost it at a washroom in a gas station. I told him to go back on the chance that an honest person found it. Well, it turns out a sweet little old lady found it (what was she doing in a man's washroom, eh?) and gave her name and number to the cashier. Sean called her and described the ring, and went and picked it up today.

So it's back on his hand where it belongs! Yay!!!

I lost my engagement ring in a women's bathroom at The Keg once. I had pulled it off (back when my fingers were super skinny) while wiping my hands and threw it into the trash. Boy, I went through that trash until I found it!

Montreal: BEAT!!! Approved!!!!!

Yay!! That's awesome Arabella!!

I almost paid $300 for alterations, so I wouldn't be upset with $50!!

I'm upset with $50 (well more like $100 they quoted) considering they barely need to do anything to it, and it's a cheap dress ($499). Seems a little ridiculous to pay an extra 15% on top of that.

Has anyone here taken their wedding dress on a plane?

My mom says most planes have a place where I can hang it or I have to lay it down in the overhead.

I'm just not sure if I have to claim it or it counts as my carry on.

It might depend on the airline. Have you booked tickets yet?

Well I hear ya, its pretty much highway robbery, but they get you where they want you. All I had done to my dress was the bustle and have the sleeves taken in, since I'm pretty sure they were made for the shoulders of a football player. I think my dress was around $800, so thats a pretty big markup. When you spend so much on a dress they should do the alterations for free, no? Thats what I was thinking anyways. But, its not like I had the talent or skill to do it myself, and I'm terrible at "shopping around" or bargin hunting, I just paid it.

Rhiann- Most planes have closets up in first class for people to hang their coats. I'm not sure if they would let you use that or not unless you buy a first class ticket. Other than that I don't think I've seen a plane with hooks for hanging things... but Its not like I've looked.
