I haven't had my dressed cleaned either, it's just sitting in the closet in a bag. There really aren't any visible stains on it, but I know it could use a cleaning regardless. I just can't be bothered to haul it all the way to the cleaners, then bring it back home, and then do the whole preservation thing... But I'm not ready to let go of it. So, for now, It will sit there until I decide what I want to do.

Good luck with your dress searching Darkchilde! I've heard of people buying dresses really far in advance... that's what fittings are for, right? :)

I think we're able to afford it with this check we got from EDD. It has a few make up stains and dirt stains, haha. I hope that's cleanable after almost 2 months... egh.

I finally cleaned my dress from my first wedding 12yrs ago this past summer, so that I could sell it. It had some gravy from dinner spilled on the front, and the bottom of the dress was VERY dirty since it poured rain that day. I got out a bottle of shout, sprayed the stains and threw it in the washer and it came out clean!! The dress was an alfred angelo and the tag actually said not to dry clean it.

Really?

Mine's an alfred angelo, I should go look at the tag.

I have dirt stains at the bottom cause of rain and make up stains in the front a bit.

Thanks for the tip :D

EDIT: Yeah, you're right it does say to not dry clean it, though mine says to not wash it either. I'll have to spot wash it! Thanks alot, I would have never looked at the tag if you didnt say anything!

My friend who is making my wedding dress is bringing the bodice to my house on Thursday for my first "real" fitting. She had brought in a cotton bodice to fit to me before she cut the expensive material. I am so excited!

Yes girls, I said yes to the dress!

MANY MANY MANY thanks to Peachey who helped me get in the million dresses I tried on (like 10 or so!). After pretty much figuring out I won't buy anything until the fall, the consultant (who was so busy with ANOTHER bride) came to me with a dress she thought I should tried. I put it on and was floored. It was beautiful. And I really liked how I looked in it. Thank you Peachey for saying I looked good in everything, but this one was THE ONE. My MIL who was with us called later in the day and said she was all teary when I was in it :)

As stated in the feedback, the pictures do not do this dress justice. It is so beautiful.

Anyway, I am just in shock I bought the dress and I now officially feel like a bride! (Even though I had been one for a bit...) :D

Finally married... and still married... ;)

I have a front loading washer....which is gentler than a top loader, and then I washed it on the delicate cycle. It had a fair bit of beadwork on it and it all survived!!

Hm, it says do not wash, but I could try it anyway.

We have a front loader and it has a delicate cycle.

I'm still wary about the Shout though, I'm scared of ruining my dress
