Is your wedding the legal one or ceremonial, frenzyheart?

Ceremonial! I've been planning my wedding since February, so it'll just be a matter of buying all the stuff. Besides, my mom planned her wedding in about two months, so between her and I, we'll be good. Once we get the interview date, I'll start buying stuff. The fact that it's so far in into next year, the only thing that will throw it all off is if they take a long time to give us the interview date, but even then, I think I have it all covered! :) *fingers crossed*

Quality, not quantity!

I don't think it really matters how many friends you have, you can still have a smashing time!

I don't have that many friends either, but the ones I do have are gonna make my bachelorette party a night to remember. (big rubber penises, woooh!)

For all you out there contemplating on having one...DO IT! You'll have fun & glad you did it.

My friends threw me a bachelorette party. Because I dont drink, we just went to a wings place, and went to Demetres for desserts and ended the night karaoke-ing. I was surprised at how much fun I had :P

And because I have several sets of friends and its just tooooo muuuuuch work integrating friend-sets, we were only 5 in my party. Then my other sub-set of friends just took me out to dinner!

Ashen, glad you had a rocking time!

Finally married... and still married... ;)

I'm not wanting a big thing, I just don't have any female friends in the area to do anything with. There's no real "halfway point" for the chickees in my wedding party, and all the rest of my friends live about 4 hours away (which, when planning a wedding and trying to pay rent/utilities/christmas presents feels like a billion years away - I haven't been back since August.). I've only been in this area for about a year, and there aren't many people my age around to hang out with. My one close female friend around here is a retail manager at two stores and past her eyeballs in work because it's holiday season.

I think I'm still adjusting to being so far away from my friends, don't mind me :P

Yeah, I didn't really want a bachelorette party either but my maid of honor insisted. I'm actually glad she did, because it turned out to be a pretty fun night. We had about a dozen people all together, but some left early and some came late, so there was really only 6 of us who were there the whole time. I'm not a drinker either, aside from a drink or two on the rare occassion but that night... that night was bad  I didn't really feel it til I got home but It wasn't good. People kept buying me drinks and shots of stuff and I couldn't be rude and just leave it there!

Peachey and Varba soon!! :D

Well, turns out the people whom my future mother in law invited are coming <_<

I told her that if they pay for the dinner, the show, the car and the hotel for themselves they can come. We thought that'd be a stretch and would make them not come.

Well, that certainly wasn't the case.

*sigh*

Oh well. Can't win all the wars.

I don't even know who they are

My parents probably won't be very happy about it. Eh, at least they don't have to pay for them.

Now I have to try and get them to send them an invite. I don't know how successful I'll be at that.

I'll get my fiance to talk to them about it, I'm sick of doing everything. Haha.

Wow, did I ever make headway today.

Last week, my mom and I went into some of the bridal shops around here. Oh boy, was that ever a mistake. I do not have the patience it takes to deal with the women who work at those places. Anyhow, didn't find anything within my price range, nor did I find anything that I even remotely liked. Paying three times my limit for something I wouldn't want to pay $20 for stills a tad outrageous. So I gave up, told my mom that I'd just buy whatever was discounted at the David's Bridal just outside Ben's city...

So today, having planned out a ton of stuff I actually had to do (completely non-wedding related), mom and I decided to fluff it all off and and head to the mall in the city. Luckily, one of the dress shops had some gorgeous holiday dresses, including a small sized, light cream one that fit perfectly and was exactly what I was looking for, only $125 at Fairweather (my faaaaavourite dress shop here in Canada). So, we put it on hold while we were looking around some more, and then when we went back to pick it up/pay for, it rang through at only $80!

Found some matching, light cream flats, for only $15 at Zellers!

So with that all taken care of, I came home and called up the office of the city where I want us to get married. There are two gorgeous parks, either one beautiful, where I want to simply officiate and take some pretty pictures... no real ceremony. Well the one park I guess isn't open during January because all of their flower gardens are done for the winter. But for the other one, once I explained what exactly we were planning, she said there'd be no issue with us going in there for our short period of time, so long as we didn't set anything up and didn't disturb anyone. No charge! :D

So, then I called the number of my future mother-in-law's employee, the family friend who has his officiation license. She gave me his number and even said she'd let him know I was calling. So... I called him. And after explaining five times who I was, I told him that I was given his number from [MIL's name] and that she said he had his officiation license. "My what?" "Um... your license to marry people..." "Oh, no, I don't have that."

So... yeah. No idea.

Turns out she accidentally gave me the wrong number, haha, which I just found out. So now I have the right number and will call him when he's out of school.

Aaaaaah, craziness.

Nice score on the shoes and dress.

And don't you love it when you accidentally call the wrong people? You always feel so silly afterward.

It turns out my mom's mom isn't coming to our wedding.

She's having a hard time with life and her emotions right now, my mom was at the hospital with her for 3 hours getting her medication and a phyciatrist.

I kind of knew from the beginning that she wouldn't be able to come.

It's still sad that she can't, though.

Got my wedding invite today. (Yes my parent sent us an invite, haha.) I love the colours, they were a great find on my mom's part.

Haha, if I had the money for plane tickets, I would've budgeted more than $150 for the dress and shoes.

'Tis a very simple dress, but honestly, it's 100% my style, so I'm happy.
