i finally received my ead today and i'm so eager to get a job. any tips from my fellow pinays? is it a good idea to distribute my resume to every company i find interesting, even if they don't have openings? i've been looking at classified ads in the newspapers and some job listings on the internet but i want to maximize my resources. i know i shouldn't be picky, but where are the best places to look for jobs?

3 of my previous jobs were from craigslist.com (website for everything) ... careful lng ngayon kasi there's so much scams happening on craigslist and even in careerbuilder.com (both ok but sometimes there's always that bogus scam thing)... or i usually go to the company's website itself and click on their "career" page and apply... good luck!!!

Citizenship N-400

4/15/2010- sent my N-400 via fedex overnight

4/16/2010- signed and delivered

4/29/2010- check cleared

i did encounter that. the ad was really believable. and when i emailed them i got an automatic reply saying i should get a credit check first.

thanks for the reply!

If you have white collar skills

Then I would get a Head Hunter or Job Placement agency

Seems like I was able to get higher paying jobs when I used a Head Hunter

And for some reason the company that hired me and paid the Head Hunter a Fee seemed like they were getting a better employee

Looking for best places for jobs is the first step. Next critical items are 1) resume 2) interview.

For resume, just prepare a 2 page curriculum vitae (resume) and practice your interview skills. You have to make sure that you stand out from the rest of applicants.

Anothere tip: do you homework and review the company you are applying for ahead of time.

Job placement agencies pays more but usually there's a contract that you are going to sign and you don't have benefits like insurance (you get big paycheck anyway :-) so try to apply direct to Companies. Good luck girl!Happy Easter!

If you could have someone from the U.S., that is much better.

On my resume, i'm putting in both my previous manager and department manager from the US as my references.
