I dont know why I'm nervous about my K3 interview

I have no idea why I am nervous about my interview on Thursday. Its at the Vancouver consulate and I have heard good things from Vancouver Consulate.

I think I am not packing enough documents with me. I just followed whatever is on the K3 checklist:

- medical

- passport

- pictures

- birth certificate

- Marriage Certificate

- police certificate

- Fee receipt from Scotia Bank

- Orig copy DS156

- Orig copy DS230

Plus other stuff:

- copy of I30 application

- I130 NOA1

- I129F NOA1 & 2

- Pictures

- Some cards (birthday/anniversary/wedding)

- copy of family plan phone bill shared by me & my hubby

I emailed K3 Dept and they said they only need the original docs from Checklist. So I am kind of wondering if I even need to bring copy of Affidavit of Support and my hubby's W2 and what not as its on the VJ K3 Guide.

But .. yeah.. im still nervous. i hope everything goes well

ok i hope im not just freaking out here or losing my mind. I am reading everywhere on VJ that I need I134 for my K3 interview. I didnt get any instructions from the Vancouver Consulate about this and it is not on the checklist. I still have Affidavit of Support ready if needed with all back up documents. But does anyone know which one I need?

I emailed the consulate but they havent replied back to me.

I see the second item as the I-134 - unless that has changed?

Yes, you will need the 134 for k3.

that is definitely old. The fee is $131 and that form doesnt look identical to the one they sent me. I believe that's the K1 checklist.

I just checked the K3 checklist too and it is old. it should be updated.

ok. im confused. I have read my packet 3 over and over again, but I dont have I134 as being one of the documents I need for a K3 interview.

If i need it and dont have it, would I 184 suffice? (i hope so) *cross fingers

Go by the documents list you received from the Consulate. The affidavit of support may well work if you need it, but if you do need what you don't have , they will interview you anyway, and you then have to submit the information afterwards before they can approve you. Here is what it says on the US Department of State Website for a K3 Visa, there is a link on the Vancouver US Embassy website that takes you here:

Applying for a Visa

The embassy or consulate where you, the spouse of an American citizen, will apply for a K-3 visa must be in the country where your marriage took place. Here are the procedures to apply. The embassy or consulate will let you know any additional things to do, such as where you need to go for the required medical examination. During the interview process, an ink-free, digital fingerprint scan will be taken. Some visa applications require further administrative processing, which takes additional time after the visa applicant’s interview by a Consular Officer. The following is required:

Two copies of form DS-156, Nonimmigrant Visa Application

One DS-156K, Nonimmigrant Fiancé(e) Visa Application form

Police certificates from all places lived in since the age of 16

Birth certificates

Marriage certificate for spouse

Death and divorce certificates from any previous spouses

Medical examination (except vaccinations)

A passport valid for travel to the United States and with a validity date at least six months beyond the applicant's intended period of stay in the United States (unless country-specific agreements provide exemptions).

Two nonimmigrant visa photos, two inches/50 X 50 mm square, showing full face, against a light background)

Proof of financial support (Form I-134 Affidavit of Support may be requested.)

Payment of fees, as explained below

I would most definately bring along the I-134 Affidavit of Support to the Interview. You can use the new form that does not need to be notarized.
