This thread may have to be moved, but anyway....

Is anyone from Bohol around here, or know much about it? I'm planning a trip there soon with my fiancee and we are wondering if hiking is allowed on the "chocolate hills"

We know people can hike up atleast one of them as part of the regular tourist attraction, but we are curious if it's possible to break-away from the pack and find some that are more secluded to hike up and take pictures from.

Any info is helpful....thanks!

^Thanks for that site, but it doesn't say anything about being able to hike up some hills on your own. Everything i have found always talks about the main complex atop one of the hills. I can't find any info anywhere about whether the other hills are off limits, or can be hiked.

It's not a good idea for puti to go hiking in secluded areas anywhere in the Philippines.

I'm from Bohol (specifically from PANGLAO-WHITE BEACH PARADISE)...the answer is NO!!! only in one hill which is the main tourist area...There is another one tourist spot I can suggest if you want more walking...it is the Sagbayan Peak just next of chocolate hills town...they made at least 3hills connected with stairways...

I did my honeymoon there for four days, Take or rent the motorcycle or scooter for a day, its more fun cause you can do stop anywhere you want and not worrying to much of the traffic. I went to all the tourist attractions and beaches in Bohol. Have fun!

Friends of mine that have visited Bohol also stopped and took some pics with the smallest man in the Philippines(maybe the world), Bayoyoy.

Here's a nice video of the different places to visit in Bohol.

The wife and I definitely need to go there someday.

If I didn't have bad luck, I would have no luck at all!

You can hike near the Loboc river..I forgot what's the name of that place. There are some caves too which is pretty cool.We hiked for more than an hour, then

if you want to go near the chocolate hills you can rent motorbikes there, its really cheap!

We stayed 2 nights at the loboc river, its so amazing! At 5PM you can hear all the fireflies, the thing is,they don't have electricity.

If you like nature,Im sure you can enjoy it!

Thanks everyone. I guess there's only a couple of hills that the public has access to. Maybe if i flash a $20 to the guide i can sneak off with the woman and check some others out!

I respectfully suggest you don't wonder too much (off of the beaten path) anywhere in the Philippines.......unless you looking for more adventure that you have bargained for.

If you lucky, you may enjoy .... but things can turn ugly on a dime there or anywhere in the world...especially where is not your surrounding that you are familiar with.

My suggestion is that you hire you own personal security, if you really want to get off the beaten path....ANYWHERE in Phil
